but i'd like some extra spare time

Well school is coming to a near end and i feel as though i am not prepared at all! I still have a ton of work and presentations to do, as well as starting to study for those inevitably difficult finals! Too bad my marks arent as satisfying this semeseter, so i will have to study extra hard to do well on the finals.

This weekend has been so packed with stuff to do that i actually did homework on friday and saturday night! blasphemy! and i am still no where near where i would like to be! ak!

saturday i went down to kelowna to find a place to live (after calling close to 30 places with unsuccessful output --> everything was full!). The first place we went to was an old run down shack, where each tiny room was packed with crap and there were mangy cats running around (and i would be sharing the place with some creepy old 40ish year old and some hermit man who lives in the basement)...so as they day progressed we got a whole whack of "no one was home" or "no vacancy" from some more places...(feel free to fill in your own imaginary details of viewing other sarcastic "diamonds" in the depths of kelowna ghettos),

FINALLY we found an add in the paper advertising a "small furnished suite" for 600/month including utilites and cable, which really isnt too bad of a price since most of the places i was looking at that were much more than that and didnt include utilities. So dad called up the lady from the add and we ventured down to beach ave. off abbott street right down by the lake. after driving through a ritzy mansion neighbourhood we came accross this tiny little quaint clean house with an elderly lady in the yard staining some shelves. We looked at the "small furnished suite" which was very small..and crowded with furniture, but after discussing my temporariness of the summer she offered to show us the room inside she rents for 450/month (which is what we ended up going with) so now some random notes about it:

- it is by far the cheapest thing i have encountered that seems relatively safe (and it includes utilities, cable, internet, and laundry)

- it is furnished and very ugly and crowded with old ppl stuff

- there is VERY little storage space, which i dont know how to deal with since i have too much clothing

- i have my own entrance off the back yard, which is gorgeous, and like 20 feet from the beautiful sandy beach!!!
- when you walk in my entrance there is a closed in porch, which has a guest bed (for my visitors they encourage) and a fridge and deep freeze (that i think i share with them)

- then you walk through another door and get into the dark room where i will live, it has a bed and two couches (one is an awesome red sectional which i think is kinda neat looking). it also has a computer (which i would replace with mine, and some ugly religious decorating. (and a tv, which could be good)

- i will be sharing the kitchen with rita and charles (the neat old ppl who i am renting from ) which is something i feel apprehensive about, but i am sure after a week or so i will get used to it. and i am pretty sure that means i wont have to bring all of my kitchen stuff, since it is such a small area and i wouldnt even know where to store it!

- i also kinda have my own bathroom off of the kitchen/their living space...it is just a shower and toilet, but it is nice and clean and there is also the washer/dryer in there

- then off of that there is a nice deck and hot tub that i doubt i woudl be using since that is "their space"

- i also have a few options of where to stash my scooter (which is GREAT since i am SOOO far away from where i am going to work)

- i also really want to bring my bike since there are some nice biking areas inthe area and since it is so flat, i can hopefully train myself to bike to work.

- rita and charles have like 14 kids and tons of grandchildren, so they said they may have some come up during the summer (even though the house is so small idont know where they would stay) and that they tend to leave quite a bit over the summer

- it is kind of like living with grandparents, since they are really nice and friendly, but go to bed at 8:30, so there will no noise made out of me!

- ALSO, when we first got there rita was telling me about the dangers of all these crazy kids that come to kelowna to party and date rape drugs and all the creepy drug addicts and single moms that have stayed with her (i think to just feel out that i am NOT one of those ppl), but after she found out that i am 20, and not 18, i am pretty sure she realized that i am smart enough to stay away from that.

- i think that is all i have to say about it, i really want to feel happy about the whole situation, but i just feel stressed and apprehensive. ick! time to go get more work done!!
