Is it Friday yet?

Actually, things are going fairly well despite being overrun with school and work and trying to find time to spend with a certain special person ;-). I am surprised that I am not more stressed out than I am at the moment, must be all the caffeine keeping me going... anyways, I just received an email from my friend who is a school teacher in rural Ohio, near Kentucky (for those of you not living in the US, that means she lives in the country hills and everyone has an accent that makes them sound very unrefined, shall we say? They also tend to do things like drive tractors down the streets and keep cows in pens in the middle of the town- at least where she lives they do, anyways).

My friend teaches a pre-school program at the local family literacy center and she wrote this story about her conversation with one of her students. I thought it was funny, so enjoy!

'Yesterday I walked over to where he [a 5 year old student] was playing with blocks, and he looked up at me with wide eyes and said, "I farted."  He took me by surprise so I was fumbling for the appropriate "teacher response" but before I could come up with anything he asked, "Why did God make us to fart?"  I fumbled out a response like God just made us to have to do that sometimes, but that wasn't a good enough explanation for him.  So he said, "I think God made us fart to make music.  It sounds kind of like music, doesn't it?"  Well what can you say to that?'
