Happy Monday to Me!

I was so excited today because I got a book and my passport in the mail today that I started dancing around in my apartment like it was Christmas or my birthday or something! But... my day was ruined when I saw that my middle name on my passport was spelled wrong! Grrrr! I have to send it back to them to get a new one now! Poop!

1. You get passport by mail? It's weird. In Poland you have to go and get it yourself to the office, with your ID and stuff.
2. You didn't have passport? Or you changed it? :)

Here is the states, you have to get your picture taken and take it with your birth certificate and the application to the post office and pay them to send it out and process it for you. You end up waiting like 6-8 weeks for the dumb thing. This is my first passport ever. I have never been overseas before so I am looking forward to it a lot actually! :-)

wow... I've been travelling like mad since I was a kid. My first travel ever, I was still unborn in my mother's uterus.. that was from vietnam to France, then when I was 4 months from france to tunisia. never stopped since. I couldn't live without my passport and I collect the foreign stamps on each of them.. on the one I currently have (that will be soon replaced because of YOU americans ! lol) there's, among others, vietnam, singapore, senegal, turkey...
I can't stay still what can I say !

See, foreign travel is not as common here in the US as it is over in Europe- unless you are going to Canada to get wasted when you are 19 (legal drinking age here is 21) or going to Mexico on Spring Break or something- neither one of those places have really required a passport because of the open door policy that we had. My family used to travel the US a lot, but was never adventurous (or rich enough) to travel abroad so I've never needed a passport. It's cool all the places you have been, though! I must say that I am very jealous but hope to catch up to you some day :-)

lmao !!!
here it's 18. But anyone can buy alcohol without much trouble.

It's different in Europe, for a very simple reason : size.
US : big and large and far from everything.
Europe : small countries with their individuality... easier to travel.
Plus, the prices have gone down a lot. You can have a week in Senegal for about 1000 dollars.
And most of the countries I've been to where because I had opportunities : Vietnam was my end of studies internship, and I made a 22 hours stop to visit singapore on my way home... I had famiy in moscow... stuff like that :)

Wow, it's weird to hear that someone couldn't have a passport! ^^ I have it since I was born :) But I understand. Your country is so big and has so different states and regions that there's no need to travel when you want to change an environment. But I'm glad you have one now and can visit my continent! ^^
