I finally got done with this huge project I've been periodically working on for work since the beginning of the year, and while it's liberating to be done with it I feel all weird and lazy now because I don't really have anything major to work on at the moment. And in that lazy spirit today, I was browsing Amazon.com and saw they are having a huge TV-on-DVD sale and purchased The O.C.--the entire series, all 4 seasons--for just over $100. Yeah, yeah, make fun of me for it if you must, but I really enjoyed that show; it was silly and melodramatic and a fun way to spend an hour each week when I was supposed to be writing papers and blahblahblah.

I saw the newish flick Hot Fuzz (from the makers of Shaun of the Dead, so you know it's good) twice over the weekend and totally fell in love with it. It has the most convoluted plot and gun battle/chase sequence royale at the end, and for my $3 there is nothing funnier that Timothy Dalton tripping over a model truck and getting pierced through the jaw on a model church tower. Or having old grandmas whipping out guns from their bicycle baskets. Or having Simon Pegg lead a charge of grocery carts toward knife-wielding deli workers.
