I've been tied down by microphones

Decide upon a common enemy. There's this sound you need to find before you say anything at all. It's what you get when your strings ring at exactly the right frequency, but you feel the vibrations, you don't hear them. It's the door shutting behind you when you're trying to find anything to say at all, but it isn't the sound that gets you, it's the cold wind you feel on your skin in that open-back summer dress. It IS your common enemy's voice. Believe it or not, the hero won't fight the villain here. This strip has no action, no word bubbles and as a matter of fact, it has no villain either. This strip is blank negatives and the reason you drive around at night the last place we ever said anything worth listening to was the same reason we should have waited until the strings stopped rattling before we started playing again. The change in delivery, the difference in the tone, the excessive level of pride, and the lack of communication I represented only rival my lack of self control. I kept my word and I still believe that I found the right road but there will never be a villain. When I swore I would never be the common enemy, I should have sworn on more than my name. See you at my trial, girl.
