RICHARDSON, Texas - Concordia University at Austin senior guard, Ashley Edwards (Santo, TX), was named the ASC West Division Basketball Player of the Week for the second consecutive week for games from November 29th through December 4th and from December 5th through December 11th . Last week, Edwards scored 56 points, pulled down 21 rebounds, dished out 18 assists, blocked 3 shots and had 16 steals in three games. Not one to rest on her laurels, Edwards followed that with an encore performance of 48 points, 17 assists, 13 rebounds, 2 blocks, and 5 steals in two games this past week. Player of the Week honors could hardly be denied, as Edwards recorded her first career "triple-double"
(and only the fifth triple-double in conference history) in Saturday's game against U.T. Dallas. The seemingly unstoppable point guard calmly scored 24 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and handed out 11 assists; double digits in three separate statistical categories. Edwards is currently the leading scorer in the American Southwest Conference, averaging 20.7 points per game and is among the conference leaders in nearly every statistical category.
