About Seajules' Review Contest

Aug 05, 2009 11:13

Hey guys,

seajules is running a review contest, with a view to seeing more speculative poetry discussed critically. I thought it might be a good idea to have a post where people could comment with suggestions as to what to review, be it your own collections/journals, collections/journals you've read and enjoyed, or collections/journals you've actually not thought much of that you'd like to see discussed by others.

So, if you'll leave a comment to this post, I'll keep on updating it accordingly, as well as indicate when someone's agreed to review a given collection / issue.

To begin, here are some suggestions from me. Please remember that Jules would like you to focus on material published in the last five years, containing a minimum of eight pieces or so, and that although speculative poetry must be a feature, she expects a review of the entire contents of whatever you choose to tackle.

Please Note: If you're interested in any of the following, it will be up to you to contact the right people and acquire a copy. If any of you have review copies to spare, please let me know in comments, and I'll update the information to make that clear.

ETA: After realizing that there are heaps of markets out there and no dearth of means by which to find them (please check out Ralan and Duotrope for a start), I'd like to refresh the call for other publications, especially anthologies that have already appeared, and individual poets' collections.
