Just a quick update b/c it has been a LONG time.
This Saturday is our mandatory adoption training date. Placement can happen any time after Saturday!!
Currently there are 3 pregnant minority mothers due next month and only 2 (us + 1 other) families who will take minority infants. Very sad...but, the odds of us getting matched for next month are high!! Crazy to think we could have an infant in a week or two...
Our fundraising has gone very well, thanks be to God!! We started this process in February needing to raise $12,000. We now only have $2,000 left to raise!! This is due to the generosity of our WONDERFUL friends. All of the money has to be handed in before we can have placement. We have already paid a couple of thousand for home study/home visit/application, so approx. $8,000 will be due at placement. We trust the last of the moneys will be met, but if not, we will happily walk to the bank to take out a loan!!
We cannot wait to meet and hold baby Cadenhead. In the same breath, though, my heart feels beyond heavy for the birth mother who will not have the chance to parent her child, and for this child who was not able to be raised by birth family.
