I probably write about Sachiko more than any other character save for Mikami. There's just something really fascinating to me about mothers, to me. Anyway I'm really glad you enjoyed it, thank you!
Thanks, I'm glad you liked it! :D I almost didn't include 13, because I couldn't figure out how to phrase it without making someone seem like a giant asshole, but I think (hope) it worked out!
No, don't worry, I personally think it's great and very... human, in a way. Eh, I don't know how to put it, but there's something bitterly realistic about it. So yeah, it's just fine.
Yeah--I think most parents do feel differently about each child. They might love them all equally, but they might like them more or less, and it's harder if one of the kids accomplishes a whole lot more than the other does. But most parents would still probably feel guilty about any leanings they had towards that.
Yeah, by that point Light was seriously losing touch with reality and his former system of morals. I mean, he didn't anticipate that that would happen to his sister, and he did try to help, but still. Him killing L didn't piss me off very much...I love L, but it would have made no sense for Light not to try to kill him, it would have been totally OOC and in defiance of his motives. I didn't like that L died, but it didn't piss me off--I actually thought it was pretty ballsy of the creators to kill off one of the main characters.
Is that icon from Strangers In Paradise by any chance? :D
Thank you very much, I'm glad you enjoyed it! And yeah, that's the point of these 20 Note things in my opinion--you get the whole scope of a life. It's just hard to pick out what's relevant and not say the same things over and over!
Ahem. Amusement of that apart, this was really wrenching; I think the bits about the fates of Sayu, Soichiro and Light, one after the other practically, was really painful. I also very much liked the idea that she saw through him and Misa's relationship, and the one about loving Sayu.
L's mom totally craved cake when she was pregnant with him...B's mom craved cauliflower. *nods authoritatively*
I wrote one of these about Mikami a while back, and the end of his was very depressing as well--nobody really gets a happy ending in canon, so it's hard not to structure it that way!
Mothers can be very observant! She's been observing Light closely all his life, I'm sure she can tell if something's off. And while I don't think Misa is stupid, she isn't as smart as Light, and they probably can't really have decent conversations. Sachiko would have to see that. D: And Sayu...I'm sure she totally loves Sayu, but Light is easier to be proud of.
