It's been three months. What the hell, how has it been three months?
The problem with coming back to a gently-used LJ or DW after such a long time is that it is nigh-impossible to figure out what the hell to say. Good news (for me, at least): I'm not (yet) dead! I had top surgery a week ago, everything is healing nicely, I'm off work for the duration of August and probably some of September, I mostly feel like I'm in perfect health and I constantly struggle to remember that I'm not supposed to lift anything over five pounds for another week. And I am back on hormones as of this morning, which is excellent because the combination of healing and not being on hormones had me lacking quite a bit of energy.
I want to say I'll be back for real now (at least until school starts, ahahaha oops) but I currently don't have a computer and despite my father's assurances that he will purchase it for me the moment I provide him the links, it's been several days and he hasn't found the time to do so yet. So I don't know when I'll be on LJ/DW much, just that I hope it happens soon, in part because I've been trying to write recently but I find it tiresome having to use pen and paper and nothing else.
Re: fandom, I've started listening to Welcome to Night Vale (am almost caught up!) and once I'm up to date with that I expect the episode 2.2 of The Confessions of Dorian Gray to be out, for which I am quite excited. I'm also stuck halfway through episode 1.3 of Cabin Pressure -- have been for a couple of weeks; every time I intend to finish it, I listen to no more than thirty seconds' worth and feel such acute second-hand embarrassment that I have to turn it back off. :'D Alllllllso I have been mostly hanging out in the Star Trek TOS and reboot sectors of AO3/Tumblr and I recently started watching Voyager and homg why did I not watch this before I love it so much! :3 B'ELANNA TORRES IS THE GREATEST EVER I CAN'T DECIDE IF I WORSHIP HER OR I WANT TO BE HER. And the fact that Kate Mulgrew's voice will never not remind me of Queen Mab (so disconcerting), I am really fond of Janeway, too.
In the interests of interaction, since I'm really bad at figuring out how to reply to non-fannish things myself, how about y'all pick a fandom and tell me one to three related recently-occurring things which you find interesting (can be links to fic/art/discussion, Thinky Thoughts of your own, pimping out a fandom you think I don't follow to me, whatever you want!) and then, if you are so inclined, ask me to do the same for a fandom of your choice. It doesn't even have to be restricted to fandom; you could choose a topic and expound on it, or ramble about recent political events, or tell me about the last book you read. I just want to hear about recent things that have caught your interest. :)?
On an unrelated note, which do you find more correct, "flist" or "f-list"?
