It's time to get the artist-matching process started, which means that your rough drafts are due tomorrow, March 1, 2012. (Unless, of course, you've been granted an extension

Welp, mainly we're looking at making things pretty simple, not loading the site down with a whole lot of stuff because its main purpose is to host words and images. But I think on the main page it might be nice to have a header, incorporate a really simple design that could accommodate links without the site just looking like a black-on-white vertical links list.
Does this make sense? I'm kind of trying to learn as I got along, and while I can edit HTML I've never, like, designed a site before. Does this even make sense?
Yeah, I think I know what you mean! It makes me think of something like the H/D World Cup website (for HP ff); is that what you're going for? (And don't worry, I think you make perfect sense \o/)
Mmm, yeah! I mean, a little prettier, but in terms of what's accessible and how much information is in your face from the get-go, very much like that, less like -- well, this: http://www.southparkstudios.com/
Well, there's a graphic we've used for the main comm on LJ that I made out of construction paper; I'd love to keep things thematically coherent. Then again, maybe that is hideously ugly?
Man, I don't even know how to ask for what I want with this stuff. I think I'm clear on just FTPing and hosting straight-up HTML files, but anything beyond text, links, and pictures is way beyond my scope.
Actually, do you have a recommendation on a cheap split-screen WYSIWYG HTML editor that I can buy for not that much money? I was going to get CoffeeCup, but -- any suggestions?
Sounds good! Actually, I do everything by hand and don't use an HTML editor (though Notepad++ is good for coding, if you can do that), but I've heard of Dreamweaver, though I feel like it may be a bit too expensive?
Shit, you must be amazing! I've used Dreamweaver before, it is super sweet, but it costs about $400, unless you "subscribe" for $29/month. Which might not be the worst plan ever. Hmmm.
Want it for free, like, your CSS help? Probably, yes! I just am not sure I know how to ask for what we want yet, and I know web people hate that. I just downloaded an HTML editor called Kompozer, which looks okay? I definitely need one so I can put stories online without having to do extensive coding.
Um. Sorry, I must be the most annoying person to go through this with.
Ahahaha, it's okay! I actually like it when people ask for what they want because I think the more specific, the better ("the customer's always right" and all that XD). Coding isn't very difficult for me, so if there's anything I can do, I'd be happy to :D
Oh! In the FTP client that you used to upload the file, just change the extension of the file (ex. from .html to .php or .css or something like that). :)

I could probably make a prototype and then show you and then you can tell me what should be changed? ^^

When I FTP an HTML document and it goes on the internet, um, how do I get the URL to not have ".html" at the end?
