(no subject)
I was in Powell's yesterday when I found out. We had all been watching the internet feeds religiously but we hadn't clicked refresh before a boy, probably about 15 or 16, stands up and shouts, "Obama is the president! Everybody, Obama is the president!" Then tears start to well in his eyes. He tells us that his brother left the country four years ago when Bush was re-elected. He hasn't seen his brother in four years, but now that Obama is president, his brother is coming home. Thanks to Obama, his campaign managers, and all the dedicated volunteers and contributers, this kid will get to see his brother again.
