A Mission of Grace Does Not Get Old

Jun 25, 2011 16:21

I am but one person in the world. But it is my charge as a person to feel the pain of others. Understand their struggles and disappointments, their hardships and inadequacies, and open my heart to them. I will not hate. I realize everyone is doing the best they possibly can. I will judge no one, but rather, cradle all of humanity in my heart. I have a gift of empathy and compassion that I must not waste.

The beauty of grace is that I receive blessings from my life for no reason. I cannot take control of my joys any more than I can completely stop my sorrows. I charge myself to practice random acts of grace. I will give to others, just as I have been given. I will offer kindness to strangers. I will find love for those no one else loves and I will practice grace.

Some of you might remember this from a LONG time ago, when I wrote it as a sort of personal manifesto.

I'm glad to see it still fits pretty well. :)

PS: Now I'm gonna go outside.
