Early morning yesterday I noticed a package on our patio, I ran to grab it and noticed it was not our name or address on the package. It didn't have a carriers name either (was from Amazon).
When we got home in the evening we looked up the person in super pages and gave them a call. Let them know we had received their package and that we'd be happy to meet them someplace if they needed their package soon. We were afraid this was a kids halloween costume or something. The lady was really nice and she said it wasn't a big rush, and that she'd contact Amazon and find out who the carrier was and have them take care of it - or else she could meet us in Lewisville on Saturday.
She called us back to let us know that the carrier would call us and take car of it. Thanked us for letting her know, etc.
The carrier calls us up and made arrangements for us to leave it on the porch and that their driver would pick it up in the morning. Guy said when the message came through to him he actually exlaimed "There is NO WAY!", apparently that never happens. More specifically, people contacting them to let them know they received the wrong package. Normally they take it and keep it/sell it, since it can't really be traced.
Too few people do the right thing anymore. It took us a total of 5 minutes and we lost nothing in the deal.
Now what is that feeling called again? The one you get from doing something good.
