My friend Kate made a very good point...the manifesto is a very underused literary form. With that in mind, I've written my own.
My Manifesto.
I believe:
I believe in contrast.
I believe that we can tell our life story through music.
I believe anyone can be a writer.
I believe in the power of words.
I believe in enjoying art for art's sake.
I believe the simple things in life can be the most rewarding.
I believe in second chances.
I believe everyone has their secrets.
I believe books are meant to be made of paper.

I believe in learning from mistakes.

I believe in Ian, Owen, Jasper, Jareth, Barbie, and Katherine.

I believe Jim Henson was a genius, and our world is worse off without him.
I believe we can learn a lot from our families, good and bad.
I believe in the man I love, because he believes in me.
