so, i expected to be all home right now, sitting in the big comfy red chair and preparing for work tomorrow.
NO! not meant to be this time. we (mom, sis, and i) all piled into the car (much to my chagrin--i didn't want to leave!!) and headed up onto 84 for the long trip home (but hopefully not as long as the trip up here but uh, we won't get into that *glares at sister*) and we're going along when suddenly sister says, "there's something wrong with the car" as she's pulling off onto the shoulder.
oh shit. oh shit oh shit oh shit. so we pull off and she turns everything off and tries to turn the car and it turns over and makes like it's going to start and...nothing. won't stay on, sigh sigh.
long story shortish, called AAA, first guy came with flatbed (definitely typed "flatbread" at first, haha) and tried to start the car but it did more or less the same thing and he said "hmm, methinks it's your fuel pump." (ok so he didn't really say "methinks" but it would have been awesome if he had, non?) and then said he had to go take care of an accident on the mass pike (hope everyone was ok) and that a wrecker would be right by. in the meantime, uncle and cousin's husband (cousin-in-law) were en route to get us and we're standing on the side of 84 while wrecker guy is attaching the car and cars are whizzing and speeding by and SWEET JESUS i thought we were going to get killed but obviously we didn't cuz hi, posting here. :)
so that's the big fat lemon. it happened on a sunday so nothing is open but we had wrecker guy tow it to a place here in sturbridge and uncle j and angel brought us back here to the hampton inn and we're here for another night.
i had to call out of work for tomorrow. not happy. haven't called out in 2.5 years, you guys. for real. unhappy.
SO ANYWAY. the lemonade we made from those lemons turned out to be pretty good. go to see the cousins and the kids for another day, went to babies r us and red robin out in millsbury (uncle paid, always a plus...ha!) which means i got to see more of massachusetts, another plus, AND we got back here to the hampton in time for the CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES, OM NOM NOM. :)
*ahem* you know i've really got to say, if i were to move anywhere else in this country, it would be up to the sturbridge area, or maybe over more towards worcester. I LOVE IT.
so, friendslist, fingers crossed, happy thoughts, and/or prayers (whichever you feel more comfortable with) that it IS just the fuel pump and it gets done rather quickly, cuz we've got to get home! monica will be on her way tomorrow morning and i've got a feeling she'll be in my state before we are!!!
OH YEAH, TUESDAY IS MONICA!MOVE-IN DAY! YIPE!
ok, i am tired and we've got to get up early in the morning, so GOODNIGHT FROM STURBRIDGE, i shall check in with you all tomorrow or so...but no promises.
