I Like Writing Plays!

Who knew? It came as a shock to me in all honesty. For the last few weeks I've had different scenes running in my head that I've been reluctant to write because they're all missing something. I think it's called a plot. Or maybe conflict. There are no stakes. It seemed pointless to write anything. But tonight I decided instead of going into one of the classrooms where I would watch TV instead of writing, I was going to write something. I would write it as a narrative story and then turn it into a play. Even though that didn't work real well with the last rewrite of Trick and Anotonia, I thought I'd give it another shot. So I finally started writing. I got one sentence in and realized that of all things, I enjoy writing plays because you don't have to expound endless on anything. The whole idea is amazing to me because, well, if you read anything that I write or ever heard me tell a story, I expound endlessly on EVERYTHING! I dont' know if this shows some level of growth, but as it turns out, I really like writing plays because it forces me to get to the point quickly. Who knew?
