So I ended up having to work for eleven and a half hours on Friday. I got to work at 9 and didn't leave til 8:30. It sucked. Majorly. But I guess it means I get paid more, so whatever. Anyway, then I had to go back to work on Saturday from 11-4:30. When I got there Jason was like, "I think we're not going to have you teller today, but rather opening accounts." And I immediately said, "NO!!! I'm sorry, Jason, but I did that for almost 12 hours yesterday. I don't think I can do it again today." But then the new accounts section got really busy and neither of the other tellers looked like they were going to part with their precious teller windows to go help so I ended up opening accounts even though I reallyreallyreally didn't want to. And I ended up staying later to help finish opening accounts. So, that sucked. But maybe people will remember that I'm always staying late/coming in early to help out and I'll get something shiny. Like a promotion. ;-)
Then today the Zaq kid moved. He seems really nice. His dad is nice, too. They drove up in his car (omgitsnice) from Arizona and just brought a few things. The rest of his stuff is being shipped and should arrive tomorrow. Apparently he plays guitar in a band. The conversation went something like this:
His dad: Did you know Zaq plays in rock and roll band?
Me: Really?
His dad: Yeah. They'll be bringing all their instruments over and practicing 3 or 4 times a week. You should see the size of the drum set!
Me: Hey, that's fine.
His dad: They probably won't be able to practice in the basement.
Zaq: Yeah, it'll probably have to be upstairs. *They both grin.*
Me: *Grins.* You should practice on the second floor. I bet the bathroom has great acoustics!
Anyway, he seems like he'll be fun to hang around.
I woke up like a half an hour before they got here, so I hadn't cleaned anything. Even though I started after 1pm I managed to get all this done:
--cleaned the kitchen: counters, fridge, stove, shelves, and went through all the food
--vacuumed and mopped the entire first floor and the bathroom upstairs
--cleaned the tables in the living room
--went through all the piles of shit in my room from last school year (you have no idea how long this took O.o )
--got rid of all the old magazines I'm never going to read
--got my backpack and bookshelves organized for next semester
--cleaned my fish tank
--cleaned Tomiyo's fish tank
--cleaned the entire bathroom (shower and everything)
--washed the bathroom rugs
AND I still managed to make a fajita quesadilla for dinner (and watched CSI while I ate it) and baked brownies for dessert (and watched Grey's Anatomy while I did it). And I cut up the pineapple I bought because it was starting to get moldy.
I feel very accomplished today, even though I wanted to get my laundry done today, too. I also have to go through all the stuff in the bookshelf that's got my TV on it. And I have to put away all the clean clothes from the last time I did laundry (but they're in my closet now so if I keep the door shut it doesn't have to be done! ;-) ).
School is closing in on me. I can feel it getting closer and closer. My freedom is fleeting. And this week isn't even going to be an enjoyable last week before school. I'm working 11-7:30 Monday to Thursday and at least 11-3 on Friday, but they already said they might ask me to stay later that day. The only good thing about it being welcome week is that we get free food everyday at work. That's almost like getting paid for an extra hour because I don't have to buy a meal that I would normally buy. ...Ugh, it's still going to be horrible.
Also, it's inexcusable that I'm looking forward to this semester being over before it's even begun.
