late night austiran drunken outings
so i never thought i would in my life pretend to be French- Canadian- yes, German - possibly but french - now really
but much to my surprise before i got a chance to pretend i was Canadian in Europe i pretended to be French (or at least to speak French - so possibly still Canadian but...)
basically it was oh lets say 1 am i think this was before last call at the Australian Bar (yes i mean Australian bar and yes i am in Austria) 6 of us or so were standing in the street just chilling trying to decided what to do and this bum comes up to us and asks us something in German, we don't understand what he asked so we said, "Es tut mir leid, wir sprechen nicht genug deutsch"
(sorry we dont speak enough german)
he says ok and turns to walk away - a few step out he turns back and asks "English"
we stand there sputtering, not really wanting to talk to this guy when my friend Zack bust out "Nein französisch" (no, French) the bum again turns and walks away - we stand in silence for a moment so he doesn't hear out English and then are amazed - we just pretended we were French...
ps. going to a bar it so much more fun than i thought it would be
