soooo.

My uncle passed away today. I wasn't close with him, at all. In the past 10 years, I'd say I saw him a handful of times. He was married to my dad's oldest sister (who is the crazy sibling), and they didn't really take care of themselves or their apartment.

I feel bad for my cousin Kelly. I've only seen her a handful of times too in the past few years, but I did once live with her at my grandparents old house in Arizona for a month when I was 12. She's mentally disabled, but she's a really sweet girl. My aunt and uncle didn't take care of her properly and she has terrrible hygiene. It's really sad.

Anyway, that's the story. My mom told me this afternoon and I completely forgot about it until my dad sent me an e-mail.

Last time I saw him was at my grandparents 50th anniversary party. That was a year or two before my grandfather passed away which was June of my senior year. I can't even remember if he went to the funeral. My grandfather hated that my aunt chose to marry him. My dad, and none of my aunts or uncles really liked him. Sadddd tales.

Changing topic,
I HAVE ANOTHER COLD.

It's because my sinuses are so sensitive recently as a result of my horrible allergies. I picked up this cold from my sister. Having so much printmaking work to do is only making it worse, too. I worked in the studio from 12:30-3:30. Went home to nap away the dizziness, and had a sandwich for dinner. Napped until like 5, woke up ate... napped until like 8, woke up went to Starbucks for green tea.. got to the studio around 8:50 and worked until 1am.

the fucking fumes are KILLING me.

Sad part is I still didn't finish my final portfolio.

I completed the collagraph assignent, and honestly, I'm really happy about that. It came out pretty awesome. I like the last two prints the best because I did a relief roll to separate the bottles from the background that much more. I also mixed my own colors. The first print I inked straight up with primary colors and violet out of the tube. I want to do another one so my edition of three can have all prints with relief rolls but I just don't have time.

I still have to edition my etching! Bahh. I kept working it aaall day, and I finally think I reached a point where I'm happy with it. I just need to burnish in some light on the figure's head and drypoint the skateboard a little more.

So I figure I'll wake up early and edition it tomorrow. I really hope it doesn't take too long and that the studio is free in the afternoon, because I have work at 3 or 5. I'm hoping for 5, but with my luck I'll probably have to be in at 3.

I also have a MATH FINAL thursday morning. I've had no time to study because of printmaking and this cold which is annoying. I guess I can study quick after work. I'm just lucky that I'm good at math.

my nose... hurts...

the end.
