In the Summertime

Jun 26, 2010 00:21

In the Summertime,
When I sit out on the lawn
And let the evening wash over me,
I sit and stare at the golden scene
With the dark night sky rolling in.

A few stars begin to show
Pushing the sun and the heat out of the limelight.
One by one they dance out onto the stage
The crisp night air teases my skin making me forget the gentle warmth of the day.

And so it is, with this, I love the night.
I relish in the moonbeams covering my skin
Leaving no shadow to be found...

And though the day tried with all its might,
It just could not compare to the beauty of the night.
