I really enjoyed reading this entry, especially about wanting to have a latte with someone somewhere classy. Wishing each part of our life worked out together to make some kind of meaningful point and to be able to see how the characters we meet fit into our own story. I wish my life was really a movie, too. Unfortunately my moview would be neither a film-noir or a classy comedy-of-manners, it would be a really sophomoric comedy and I'm ashamed.

Also, I really like some of Miles Davis' work, but I can't get over how big of a racist asshole he was. John Coltrane, however, I really never got into. I like to merge my early pop with my early jazz, though, and be happy for the day with some Louis Armstrong. Of course, jazz fanatics (at least the ones I've talked to) all sweary by Dizzy Gisepie (sp?), who I've never heard. I really enjoy jazz-infused music more than I do jazz, but sometimes jazz can take me away... maybe into a darker more lovelorn moment in my life-movie. I really dislike New Orleans and southern jazz, I like the chillness of Chicago jazz a lot.

I hope you had, despite the scary shooting, a merry Christmas.

I also swear I never meant to write "sweary." I just meant swear.

Yeah, having a film-noiresque life is only wishful thinking. -sigh- And even if your life movie was a sophomoric comedy, I'd still watch it.

Eh, Dizzy Gillespie is alright. I like the more Martini lounge type jazz, you know? Dizzy is a bit eclectic for my taste. Too upbeat. I don't fancy southern jazz either. It's too sloppy. I'm not sure if I picked the right word to describe it but it makes me feel disoriented. Definitely Chicago.
I'm kinda sick of other genres so I think I'll rest them for a bit. Nowadays, I'd chose a piano over a synth, hands down.
