Twitter's Bad for Intelligent Satire
Tweeted by me: Muslims wouldn't allow a Christian church near Mecca, so let's show that we're just as intolerant by not allowing a mosque near Ground Zero.
Explanation: People are using the argument that Muslims would never allow the building of a Christian church in a mostly Muslim nation to justify their opinion that the Muslim community center and mosque should not be built two blocks from Ground Zero. My tweet was intended to point out the hypocrisy and logical inconsistency of such a statement. I said nothing about America being (legally speaking) a secular nation, or anything about the laws of any given Muslim nation. While those subjects may make for interesting topics of conversation, I was making a point about ridiculous justifications for intolerance.
