avatar_contest After the defeat of Fire Lord Ozai, Sokka had no shortage of people who wanted to help him. That was very useful to the young man, for he was on a quest to find his lost sword.
Sokka’s plan worked -- too well. He had a list of people who wanted to help that was taller than himself. One potential candidate in particular caught his eye; he couldn’t resist the urge to investigate.
“Greetings, I am Wang Fire,” Sokka said obnoxiously, disguised as Wang Fire, as he entered the prison cell.
Ozai raised his eyebrow. He never had visitors, beyond Zuko. He was shocked that they would let some commoner to see him.
“I am Sokka’s trusted assistant,” Sokka shrieked, as if he was gravely offended. “I was sent to determine if you’re qualified.”
The former Fire Lord smiled. This was what he wanted. He had heard that the sword had been made from a comet and would bring him great power.
“You will find that I am perfect for the job,” Ozai said confidently. “I’m intelligent, strong, ambitious, skilled, a good leader and good with geography, I’ve traveled extensively.”
“Yet, you are in prison?” asked Sokka, he rolling his eyes.
“My son,” Ozai replied; this commoner was as stupid. “He always does the opposite of what I ask of him.”
“Interesting,” Wang Fire mused, stroking his fake beard. “Tell me more.”
“Isn’t it obvious?!” Ozai exclaimed. “I asked him not to betray me and what does he do?”
“Hmm,” Sokka pondered. “One question. If this phenomenon is true, why are you still here?”
“I’m afraid that prison is currently the safest place for me right now.”
That much was true. Not that Sokka trusted him or anything.
“You’re hired!” Wang Fire shouted. “Your first job is to tell Zuko NOT to help Sokka on his sword quest.”
