A kiss said a lot about the relationship between two people, at least that’s what Drusilla heard. She wanted to find out for herself if it was true. She also wanted to take the next step in her relationship with Ethel. She wanted a kiss and she was very persistent about it.
“Fine,” Ethel conceded grumpily.
Ethel was completely fed up with Drusilla’s constant nagging. She had endured weeks of being badgered about the issue.
She leaned in and puckered up her lips so swiftly that Drusilla hardly had time to react. The two girls’ lips touched for a mere moment, not more than a second before Ethel pulled back.
But it felt like an eternity to Drusilla. She had wanted to embrace every moment of their first kiss, only to find it over before it had even begun. The kiss was supposed to be passionate and drive her wild. Instead it was cold, and unexciting. It was as if there was no chemistry at all between them. What disturbed Drusilla the most was how awkward it was. Not just emotionally, being kissed by someone who didn’t want to kiss, but even the position the lips meet at was weird. It had been forced, and so it felt wrong.
“Happy now?” Ethel asked in an irritated tone.
Drusilla began to tear up. She left as soon as she realized that she couldn’t hold it back. Ethel hated seeing people cry and she saw enough tears from her sister.
Drusilla knew Ethel didn’t understand her feelings. She realized that the kiss symbolized the end of their relationship.
