I can imagine people going:

"Look, Huang Xiaoming was a weakling who killed himself because he was unwilling to take hardship. Singapore is meritocratic and there are scholarships and bursaries available to Singaporeans for their study. If they have to take a loan, so be it. What to do if he couldn't find a proper job because he was edged out by more talented people. It's not the government's business to find him a job."

But then, the issue is a public policy issue. Who knows what kind o person the Ah Tiong is like? Whether we want to donate money or not, we don't have to be harsh with him... Then again, the people who were really nasty with their remarks represent a significant number of Singaporeans. TNP is spicing things up again. Eventually, if it gets more attention, it will be Singaporeans who get it. It will become an issue of "Petty Singaporeans refuse to help China boy because of prejudices" and the spin goes on. I can almost hear a minister coming out to tell people not to engage in the politics of envy and whatnot.

Charity begins at home, the Singapore govt is treating it's own people like dirt, $290 is more than enough for an unknown PA welfare scheme, according to that Vagina Balacheebye minister. Whereas these fucking Chinaman are paid to study here for free.

There is simply no business of ours to be charitable to these fucking Chinaman leeches.

"You want a hawker, foodcourt or restaurant meal?"
Seriously, he is out of touch with the ground talking from his Ivory Tower.
I like that new name you gave him though. :p

"Petty Singaporeans refuse to help China boy because of prejudices"

It has already started, next day on TNP was this guy and his daughter who benefitted from some Ah Tiong's marrow donation.
