The JAW surgery experience 1

Aug 06, 2008 10:32

Well after years and years of talking and hoping and wanting. This year as my 23rd on this earth finally marks the time when I get my infamous jaw surgery. Yes the talk is over and it was done last Monday. Albeit with complications along the way as always which usually makes my life oh so awesome.
It was orignially slated to be done in May but the very Thursday before my sugergy while they were testing my blood for any allergies to medications they discoverd something very interesting. My blood sugar was 400. Yes 400. Death level, Diabetic shock level... pretty bad stuff if you ask me. After asking me to fast and come back in the next day they found that it wasn't a fluke.. my blood level went down to a whopping 350...whoopie.
So it came to pass that I had to get some more tests which led me to much better news though. My anitbody count in my kidneys was good and  healthy mostly meaning that hopefully I was not going to be a full diabetic and have to worry about this shit the rest of my life.
The second was that I had a normal level of protein in my urine which also leads to the same conclusion as stated earlier. All of this made me feel better despite being put on medications that were the sizes of freakin horse pills.

Overall though after all that the surgery finally was given the green light and it happened. I am currently only about 25 % as swollen as I was the day after surgery though three days after surgery I was already home and walking about normally with my wonderful girlfriend Tammy at my side. Yes she came down from Sacramento to come visiti with me for a lil under a week and she helped me tremendously as with the liquid floating inside and around my head it was very hard for me to walk around without feeling that motion sickness.

Currently though I am in Sacramento visiting with my sister who has since finished her residency and is a full fledged dentist now despite not having a job :p She is caring for me as Tammy is immersed in her bar tending school and I have to say I am very impressed with how dedicated she has become to the schooling. I will be starting schooling too at American River College in Sacramento at the end of the month so I don't get off scott free for too much longer.

Oh well. I can't help but feel that the new Offspring album is just pure greatness as I blast it through my ears to help me feel better.  What a good feeling...
