I've just spent hours upon reading this account of the msscribe wank in the Harry Potter fandom, way back in the day. The level of investigation on that article is just staggering.
My final project for my Women & Writing course was to analyze gender roles in the Harry Potter series. It turned out quite well and gave me an excuse to finally read Harry, A History which has somewhat renewed my waning interest in fandom. I just want some new tidbit, something to stir things up again. I miss the craziness of the Potter heyday.
Also, I can't believe how long I've actually been part of this fandom. Almost a decade o_0.
