oh no, don't close your eyes

i am feeling better. really, really better. of course, the effects of my illness were dire--i had to cancel plans with dan and kathy; was a total bitch to ben and jessica; and vomitted all over one of my favorite t-shirts--but now i'm back in the game.

but this weather is really pissing me off. i go to japan, okay? the weather is shitty. it's fucking monsoon season, right? i come back. there's, maybe, TWO days of nice weather before i am vomitting and too feverish to go outside. and then i decide to feel better and the WEATHER GOES TO SHIT. i am not pleased. not pleased at all.

JESSE HARWIN is back in town. this should evoke vivid memories for most of you. jesse's life story is one that i am glad is not mine. you should ask him to sit down and talk to you about it. anyway, i get to see him on FRIDAY, which is going to be great.

i'm about to go see "dodgeball" with john from omsi [this will be john-from-omsi and my number three get-together. you can all slowly rest assured that he is not a psychopath. although he does work the laZer light shows at omsi...]; followed by the LONG ANTICIPATED spiderman 2. don't give away the surprise ending.

i'm restless with missing most of you [note that i said "most." some of you i could easily do without], and i want to get together in a huge group and see all your shining faces. and give you the giant cheet.os i brought back from overseas. please?

last saturday, about ten seconds before i got sick, i went to this pool party at erin's. i realize, looking back at the pictures that i have an overabundance, in general, of pictures of ben malbin looking horrifically and inexplicably adorable. the pool party yielded, like, eight more. oh yeah, and that [indicates to cole and joe in the first shot] is cole and joe. awwwwww.

[please download the song "pool party" by the aquabats to hear a detailed and first-hand account of this get-together].

i have been so utterly lonely. oh oh oh! but dan szymkowiak called me last night to talk. !!! that really made my life worth living. thank you, dan. thank you so much.

and ian has also been readily available for cheering and kind voice mail messages and "hope you aren't puking too much, kid"s, which has been helpful.

ben has been ridiculously supportive, considering that he works ten hour days with what sounds like the most hideous commute in the history of commutes [an hour and a half on the way back, it sounds. ouch.] i think he should be given sympathy cards.

[blinks rapidly.]

eh. moot point.
