Yarr.. long time, no update?

Wow, I've gone almost an entire month without posting something. Is my life that busy, or am I just getting more protective about what I put up? Probably a bit of both..

This past week, our workplace moved. I had never done one of those before, so it's definitely been interesting. Even more amazing, instead of being in a cubicle sound-pollution zone, I'm now in my own office. It's amazing. I really don't know what else to say. I've never had my own office before. You have no idea how unencumbered that feels.. and how scary it is. If I fail, I have no one to blame but myself.

Outside of work, I've been spending a fai amount of time with family. I haven't really mentioned this much before, but I have a daughter who's heading towards two now, and she's really coming into her own. She's also learning how to, uhh, 'push back' whenever we tell her to do something she doesn't want to do. It's making life interesting. (And at times, slightly more exhausting.)

On another topic, this past month we've had something leaking out of the car. After a couple of weeks of topping up the engine coolant, my dad tracked the problem down to a snapped clamp on one of the hoses. Pretty insidious, because you couldn't really tell it had snapped except on closer examination. Thanks dad. :)

Other than that, life is good. I've been getting more than my fair share of spare minutes to play Guild Wars: Eye of the North. I'm finding it a lot of fun; they seem to have really gotten comfortable with the technology at this point. There are some great cutscenes and some really engaging quests. Polymock seems like a minigame I might actually be interested in, and the way they've finally rounded out the world's lore and wrapped up a lot of loose story ends is also wonderful. (And I just came across a thinly veiled homage to Office Space last week, so that just seals the deal in my books.. ;) Needless to say, I'm really enjoying it.

One last note.. there's an anime out there called Code-E that's interesting.. and another slightly more serious called Dennou Coil. I recommend them both.

gaming, car, anime
