Practically 1/8th of the way done
I can't believe that my first semester of college is almost over! It's really frightening to think that in 3 1/2 years, I'll be graduating college. I guess I'll probably just end up in grad school though, so that's at least some comfort. It's really scary that we keep getting closer and closer to real life...
The past four months have been absolutely incredible. I loved high school, so I'm not sure if I would describe them as the most amazing months of my life, but they're certainly up there, and I know it will only get better because there's no more adjusting left to do. I am just so happy to be here. There is not a doubt in my mind about choosing Michigan over Northwestern (especially after we crushed them in football:)), and I am so happy with the music program here, which is by far the most important thing. I had my last lesson of the semester today and it was amazing! I love my teacher sooooooo much, and I'm realizing just how far I've come in just four months. I've really worked at it, but it's paying off, and my teacher's letting me work on some musical theater songs with her because we talked about me wanting to do both musical theater and opera. She also told me that I would be able to study abroad for a semester of junior year, so in short, things are going ... perfect. It's so exciting and I really feel like I'm on the right track to a hopefully successful career.
Okay, enough of my obsessive musical ramblings. College is awesome. I've made amazing friends, people who I can talk to about anything, and I've had so much fun! The only thing that I really feel is missing is a relationship. Funny, I've never really wanted one before, but now I'm at the point where I feel ready, except there's no one around that I'm interested in. Nice how things work out that way. There's always that one person... but who the hell knows about that. Oh well. If the worst thing in my life is that I don't have a boyfriend, I'm doing pretty well:)
Home in...8 days. It's ridiculous that my break is less then two weeks long while other people get 6 weeks off, but I guess it's better to have a short break and get out of school crazy early. I definitely want to see all the Stagies/Mads...I did an abismal job of that over fall break:(
Can't wait to be done with finals, can't wait to come home, can't wait to see everybody!
