My appointment for my road test was at 10:30 this morning. We all know I don't sleep (and I need it dearly) so waking up at 9-something was hard. I took a clonodine last night, but that was the 2nd night in a row or 3 nights but one night clonodine-free. I'm not sure exactly what it's for but some friends are nice enough to give it to me when I can't sleep. I think it's for tourettes. It's perscription.
Aaanyway, I had to get up blah blah blah. I took an adderall just to be sure I'd stay awake for a little bit and didn't get distracted. We get to the DMV and it's closed. Here's why: The state of New Jersey (the WHOLE state) is having a budget crisis. This started yesterday. It's been all over the news, in case you're wondering. All "non-essential" gov't-run organizations were closed today and will remain "until further notice". Apparently they think the DMV is not too necessary. A woman there who got out of her car as we were getting back in said her lisence had been expired for a week now. What if she's living by herself and can't just get a ride any time? How's she going to get to work or an appointment? So "until further notice", all state parks and state blah blah blah fuck fuck. Casinos are next to go.
I had an appointment and everything. I so call first dibs when they re-open. If they have other apts, they can fucking move them up. I've been waiting 17 years for this. I'm SO disappointed and upset you have NO idea.
This is one of those rare (rare? not in NJ) times where we get up and shout "SUE THE STATE!"
