Masterpost/Disclaimer Here Title: Fae
Summary: Kevin Jonas wakes up a bit different in the morning.
Prompt/Song: 2000: Bron Y Aur Stomp - Led Zepplin, band!crack :)
Kevin wasn't exactly sure how this happened. He twisted around in the mirror, trying to glimpse at his back.
He knew theoretically how it happened and it was happening all over the world, but he just didn't expect it to happen to him.
The Fairy World was emerging once more in the human world and anybody who had a drop of fairy blood was having strange things happen to him. Pointed ears, wings, even different coloured skin.
One of the techs on their tour had turned out to be fairy and Kevin remembered the guy's disbelieving look when he showed up for work one day with shiny, sparkly pink skin.
Kevin guessed it was his turn as he looked at the pair of iridescent wings attached to his back that swept down to his butt and the slightly pointed ears. He wondered if Joe, Nick and Frankie were going through the same things.
He gently brushed the tip of one of his new ears and shuddered at the feelings it sent through his body. Right, no touching his ears if he wanted to be embarrassed in front of people. Shrugging off the feeling, he grimaced a little at the glitter that seemed to now be collecting on his skin.
He was never going to hear the end of Twilight jokes now.
Biting his lip, Kevin wondered how this was going to factor into stage show and costumes.
A couple of yells brought him back to reality and Kevin bit back a grin, looks like Joe and Nick woke up.
He wondered if they had wings like him as he hurried to go see.
Title: Coping
Summary: Nick coming to terms.
Prompt/Song:4567: Epic - Faith No More, Skippy, band!crack Fairy AU, Nick: coping
Nick was staring at himself in the mirror of the bathroom. He touched the reflective surface and watched as the person in the mirror mirrored his actions.
He was light blue and he had a pair of iridescent wings attached to his back.
Apparently he had Fairy blood in him. Pushing the curls away from his face to see if there were anymore changes, his fingertips brushed against his new slightly pointed ears and he shuddered at the pure pleasure from that.
Right, no touching himself - there.
Nick shook his head, this couldn't be him. It wasn't!
Stumbling away from the mirror and the bathroom, he tumbled back into his shared room with Joe who was staring at him worriedly, his own wings fluttering behind him nervously.
He stared at the new skin colour of his hands and clenched them into fists and then straightened them.
Right, he could deal with this. It was just like going through puberty again; it would suck for a little bit and then get better.
He could do this.
He hoped.
Joe and Kevin would need him.
Title: Meeting
Summary: Nicole Anderson meets the Jonas Brothers.
Prompt/Song:9000: Last Unicorn - Loreena McKennitt, Skippy, band!crack Fairy AU, Nicole: likewise
Nicole couldn't help but stare a little bit as the Jonas Brothers walked onto the set. All three of them in their winged glory.
Disney had signed them before their transformation and decided to keep them after they had - changed. Deciding to capitalize on the current craze of everything Fairy.
So the Jonas Brothers became Disney's Fairy Band.
But Nicole could see they played their own music and instruments, so it wasn't just faking it and lip-synching. They worked hard.
She could appreciate a good work ethic.
With a skip in her step, she headed over to introduce herself. Everyone always needed new friends, especially in this industry.
And she was an excellent friend.
Title: Glitter Bombs
Summary: Mike’s band finds out about his crush.
Prompt/Song:6166: Stand Out - A Goofy Movie, Skippy, band!crack Fairy AU
Mike muttered under his breath as he stalked away from his band before he hit them or something. They were being total douches ever since they found out about his crush on Kevin Jonas.
Of course, it didn't help that the Jonas Brothers were on the Warped tour. Something about trying to bring in more of a crowd.
It had made fucking TMZ, Entertainment Tonight and every other entertainment magazine, news feed and what not that the Jonas Brothers had woken up one night and found out they had Fairy blood.
The transformation had skipped the parents because they were apparently too old and the littlest Jonas hadn't 'turned' yet because he was still too young.
But the three musicians all had iridescent wings, slightly pointy ears and Kevin Jonas could glitter and sparkle with the best of them. He kinda ignored the other two, but the scowly one was a real light blue colour and the other one apparently glowed a little when excited, but that was it.
Finally looking around at where his feet had taken him, he huffed out angrily as he realized the object of said teasing by his band was sitting at the base of a tree and staring at - something.
Realizing he had the perfect opportunity, he stuck his hands into his pockets and casually walked over.
He was less than a foot away and Kevin looked like he was lost in a world of his own. He coughed lightly and said, "Hey." What happened next was a face full of glitter as the eldest Jonas jumped into the air and his wings fluttered behind him.
Apparently Kevin Jonas glitter bombed people when startled.
"Oh gosh!" Kevin said softly, hand rising up to his mouth and eyes widened. "I am so, so sorry!" A hand was thrust into his pocket and pulled out small packet of what looked like wipes. Mike watched as Kevin tore open the packet and handed a wet napkin to him. "Uh, baby wipes. I find it gets the glitter off of everything and everyone I accidently dust."
Mike took it and wiped his face and arms down. He then brushed it down his shirt and got most of the glitter off.
Kevin hunched in on himself, wings twitching behind him. "I really am sorry."
"Well, it certainly taught me a lesson," Mike chuckled a little. "I should know better than to sneak up on you unless I want to be glittered bombed."
Kevin gave a confused chuckle and looked around. "Did you need something?"
Mike shook his head. "Needed to get away from my band and breathe a little bit."
"Yeah, I can understand that," Kevin said in complete understanding and then he held out his hand. "Kevin Jonas."
Mike's eyebrows rose at the introduction, but took the offered hand. "Mike Carden."
Title: No, Really, Glitter Bombs
Summary: Kevin meets Mike’s band.
Prompt/Song:97: The Age of Not Believing - Angela Lansbury, Skippy, band!crack Fairy AU - new beginnings
After the initial meeting of Kevin Jonas, they had traded phone numbers and Mike had a new friend. While not exactly where he wanted his crush to go, he figured it was better than nothing.
Especially when he met up with his band again and there was still some glitter in his hair.
"Did Mikey get carried away with the fairies?" Bill asked in a teasing grin as he carded his fingers through Mike's long hair and cooed at the glitter that stuck to his fingers.
"Got glittered bombed by Kevin," Mike admitted. Because really, who else would glitter on tour? Besides Brendon and his bedazzler, maybe.
Bill's eyes went wide. "You got blown by a Jonas?" He swooned a little. "My mind has been sullied by the picture you paint, Carden!" He stared at Mike and flapped a hand. "Disney does not glitter bomb!"
Mike snorted. "No, he really glitter bombs you if you startled him." But now that Bill had mentioned it, he was kind of picturing Kevin on his knees, wings twitching behind him and lips stretched by his cock in Kevin's wet mouth. Shaking his head, Mike stalked back onto the bus and to more ridicule and teasing from his band mates.
~~~
Kevin rocked on his heels as he stared at Mike perform. He was on the side stage as he watched The Academy Is... perform. Mike had sent him tickets when they came through LA.
They'd been texting, emailing and calling one another for a few months now and Kevin was pretty sure Mike had a crush on him. Which was a first for Kevin; he really wasn't the type of guy for other guys to crush on him.
Well, he guessed he'd find out. He was wearing his tightest jeans and a thread bare, comfy long sleeved black shirt with the zippers holes in the back so his wings could fit through.
Soon, the set ended and Mike was off stage first and he smiled at Kevin. "Hey!"
"Hey!" Kevin greeted back as his wings twitched excitedly. Mike flung a sweaty arm around Kevin's shoulder, not caring he was getting glitter over him.
"Mike!" Kevin protested and tried to escape.
Mike smirked and tightened his hold.
Of course, that's when someone clapped their hand on Kevin's shoulder and he was startled.
Glitter flew everywhere.
Someone sneezed and Kevin looked around in disbelief.
"He really does glitter bomb you if startled."
Mike couldn't help it as he started to laugh.
Title: Floating
Summary: Kevin finds out certain side effects of kissing Mike Carden
Prompt/Song:555: As Lovers Go (Ron Fair Remix) - Dashboard Confessional, covered in glitter :D
Kevin was waiting for Mike to shower and get changed. The rest of Mike's band was horsing around and staring at him.
Tony had shown up and greeted Kevin and then looked at the rest of the glittered bombed band and laughed. He had gone to find some spare baby wipes. Kevin knew that Tony would usually keep a packet on him at all times when he tour managed for the Jonas Brothers.
Kevin smiled nervously and he wiped his hands on his jeans and waited patiently for Mike to finish.
"Jonas, you do realize Carden intends on seducing you tonight," Bill leered at Kevin.
Kevin hoped it was a leer; it was kind of hard to tell with Bill. But he nodded. "He has a crush on me."
"Oh good, you're not as clueless as your TV counterpart."
Kevin smiled a bit bitterly. "Disney PR, what can I say."
"That sucks man," The one who had introduced himself as Sisky said from the floor.
Kevin shrugged in a 'what can you do manner'.
Any other conversation was halted by Mike stepping out of the shower room. Hair still dripping wet, but in fresh clothes. He walked right up to Kevin, swiping his cell on the way.
"They keep you entertained?"
"Somewhat," Kevin drawled amused.
"Awesome," Mike nodded and looked at the others. "See you guys on the bus later on."
"Socks make great warnings!" William laughed at them as they exited the room. Mike shook his head.
"They're nice," Kevin said softly as they walked side by side.
"They're fucking annoying sometimes," Mike admitted and then spied some very tall stacks of amps. Grabbing Kevin by the arm, they ducked behind them.
Kevin blinked at him. "Are you trying to seduce me, Mrs. Robinson?"
Mike blinked and then snorted. "Is it working?"
"Maybe," Kevin said shyly and stepped into Mike's personal space, hooking his fingers onto Mike's belt loops. He had to stand on his tiptoes a little, but he pressed a kiss to Mike's lips and nearly melted when Mike returned the kiss.
They lazily made out with one another and Kevin wrapped his arms around Mike, wings fluttering behind at the sensations he was getting from just being near Mike and Mike's mouth.
Mike lost track of time as they lazily explored each other's mouths, Kevin's arms warm, wrapped around him.
An "Ahem!" caught Mike's attention and he reluctantly pulled away from Kevin's mouth and glanced around. His eyes widened.
They were floating above the stacks.
Kevin pouted and went to work on Mike's neck.
Mike glanced down to see the amused looks of his band mates.
"All right up there, Carden?" Bill drawled amused.
Mike tightened his hold on Kevin. "Ah, Kev?"
"Yes, Mike?" Kevin asked, mouthing the skin.
"We're floating."
Kevin reluctantly pulled away from Mike and finally looked and squeaked as he tightened his hold on Mike. "Um, that's never happened before."
"How do we get down?" Mike asked as they drifted around in a small lazy circle.
"I don't know?" Kevin offered and then closed his eyes and concentrated. They started to slowly float back down to the ground.
Mike felt his feet touch solid ground and breathed a sigh of relief.
Kevin arched an eyebrow, eyes still closed. "Are we on the ground?"
"Feet firmly planted on terra firma," Bill pointed out, laughing at them. "You certainly keep things interesting, Jonas."
Kevin flushed bright red as his wings twitched.
Mike growled at Bill and pulled Kevin away from the stacks and his overly nosy band.
"I am so sorry about that," Kevin whispered.
"Hey, no worries," Mike said, but his heart was still beating wildly in his chest. "Want to continue this in the tour bus?"
"Yes please," Kevin said desperately and clutched Mike's hand a bit closer.
Mike smirked; maybe he'd finally get his wish of Kevin naked when they got to the tour bus. Quickening his pace a little, they exited the venue building and he hauled Kevin inside.
They headed to the back lounge and Mike locked the door behind them.
Title: Morning After
Summary: It’s the morning after.
Prompt/Song:715: At Last - Christine Aguilera, morning after :DDD
Mike awoke to Kevin plastered to his side. Kevin's wings lazily fluttering as he slept on his stomach, arm stretched out across Mike's stomach.
He was also completely covered in glitter. They both were.
Last night had been interesting in exploring one another.
Mostly making out and who knew, other than being startled, orgasms also made Kevin glitter bomb you.
Mike foresaw himself buying baby wipes in bulk for future purposes. He lazily smirked at the ceiling. While it had only been hand jobs, Kevin was certainly a fast learner for someone who wore a purity ring.
The whole going from friends to whatever they were happened a lot quicker than Mike really wanted to think about.
Maybe Kevin really did like him more than a friend? He certainly showed up looking fuckable in the thread bare black shirt and tight jeans.
It was a possibility he was willing to explore, especially after Kevin woke up.
Title: Disney Perspective
Summary: It’s the morning after in Kevin’s POV
Prompt/Song: 7777: Ill Wind - Ella Fitzgerald, mornings after forevermore?
Kevin woke, knuckling the sleep out his eyes to see Mike was staring at him.
"Hi," He said softly.
"Hi," Mike said back, equally soft. He leaned down a little and kissed the tip of Kevin's nose.
Kevin smiled at him which Mike returned.
"So, last night was interesting," Kevin said a bit hesitantly and Mike wondered where this was going to go. "I was kinda hoping there could be more. In the future - if you were interested."
Mike watched as Kevin bit his lip and waited for his response.
"I'd definitely be interested."
Kevin then beamed, wings twitching in happiness. "Mine?"
Title: Cockblocker
Summary: Glitter does not belong in coffee cups.
Prompt/Song:1473: I Fought The Law: The Clash, by aki
"You cannae fight the laws of fairy," Sisky said in a truly dreadful scotch accent.
Bill upended his empty coffee cup and shook it. A few specks of glitter drifted down onto the counter. Everything on the bus had a faint shimmer to it. "That's it," Bill said. "Never let it be said that I am a cockblocker-"
"Cockblocker," the others chimed in automatically.
Bill acknowledged it with a nod. "But glitter in a man's coffee cup is a point too far." He walked around the bus lounge, using his hands to scrape the glitter that seemed to gather on every flat surface. When he had a good handful, he nudged open the door to the bunks with his hip. "Oi! You too!" He flung the glitter in their faces. "We are happy for all the orgasms, but try to keep your glitter out of our food."
Kevin's head appeared through the curtain, looking sheepish. "Sorry, Bill," he said, and Bill wavered. Kevin looked so adorably debauched.
Mike ruined it with a cackle. He did something that made Kevin's eyes go wide and his cheeks flame red. There was a tiny puff of glitter.
Bill gave up and retreated before he needed to be de-glittered again
Title: Meeting Family
Summary: Kevin brings Mike home to meet his family
Prompt/Song:3033: wish you were here: hey Monday, By aki
Mike looked around, vaguely impressed, as Kevin led him by the hand through the front door and into his family home. "Mom?" he called out. "Dad? Guys?"
A little kid skidded down the hall. "Didya bring him?" He came to a stop and looked Mike up and down. He made a considering face. "Are you my brother's boyfriend?"
Mike couldn't help his dumb smile. "Yeah."
The boy made a face. "Gross. Though boys are cooler than girls, so there's that."
"Frankie!" Kevin scolded, laughing.
But Frankie was already gone, yelling the news of their guest to the rest of his family. Then there were voices and noises and people and laughter, and as Kevin led the way, the smell of good food.
Mike suddenly understood why Kevin missed his family. He'd miss this too.
Kevin smiled at him, and Mike realized he was going to get the chance to.
Title: TAI TV Presents!
Summary: TAI TV has a new episodes, it’s subject - Jonasis Kevinus.
Prompt/Song: I’m in a chipper free for all, 471: pixie: ani di franco, By aki
Bill had been sitting on this idea for a month. He just needed to get Kevin on the bus while their tour was linking up with Gabe's.
For this, he needed Ryland.
It had taken most of the month to convince Michael, but luckily Ryland, or rather Guy Ripley, was up for the task straight away.
He took up the camera and signalled the pair of them. Ryland had found an actual safari helmet, and Michael was wearing the cammo that VickyT had found at an op-shop. He was even wielding the child's butterfly net she had found.
It was hot pink. It popped beautifully on camera.
"And...action!"
Guy Ripley smiled at the camera. "Here we are," he said in his accent. "Tracking the elusive Jonasis Kevinus back to his nest."
Michael Guy nodded. "Right," he said his accent even more broad than usual. "This little fellow is a shy critter, but when cornered he has a nasty little defence mechanism."
The lounge door open and Kevin backed in, wings dipping gracefully to fit through the door. He didn't notice the camera; too busy fending off Mike's hands as he tried to tickle.
"There he is! Get 'im," Michael yelled. Ryland snatched up the other butterfly net and swung it.
The wings flexed and the glitter rained like static through the shot.
Michael Guy coughed, and Bill zoomed in, trying to catch the little fountains of glitter as he cleared his lungs. Bill could have kissed him as he stayed in character. "And he's off. Like a squid and his ink, the entire Jonas family use glitter bombs as a defensive strategy." He coughed again.
Ryland took over smoothly. "Beyond defence, the glitter also serves a role in the mating display, which we will attempt to capture on camera for the first time in history, next time on TAITV."
"And cut," Bill said smugly, and then went to hit Michael on the back until he'd coughed up the rest of the glitter.
Title: Laugh It Up, Glowworm
Summary: Nick and Joe and a little family time
Prompt/Song: I need my head checked, 1161: song2: blur, By Aki
Nick looked over the top of his book, rolled his eyes, and resumed reading. "The freaks with the nets are back," he noted.
Joe shrugged from where he was lying on the floor, his wings waving idly in the air. "Kevin needs to hang with a cooler crowd."
"Shut up, you love it," Nick told him.
"Liar."
Nick smirked and turned a page. "Your firefly impression whenever they come near says otherwise." He hid his smile in the pages as the light from the floor flickered briefly. "It's cute. I never knew you had a thing for accents."
There was a puff of air, and then Joe landed on his middle. "Come on guys," he yelled. "You can hog tie him."
"Joe!" Nick squirmed, but he was lying on his wings and it restricted his movement.
Joe laughed. "He does glitter if you tickle him hard enough!" he lied with an innocent face as Ryland trapped Nick on the head with his net.
Nick scowled as the other one closed in. "I hate you!" Then all he could do was try not to squeal as Joe led the tickle charge, glowing like the moon.
Title: Maintenance
Summary: The care and maintenance of wings
Prompt/Song:4141: My Buddy (Alvino Rey Orchestra) - Arcade Fire, wings, Joe and Nick and Kevin: care and maintenance of wings
After the initial panicking that they were different now and their parents had calmed down from their own freak out.
The Jonas Brothers plus family were bundled up in blankets and headed over to the hospital. They also found out about Kevin's glitter issue.
Needless to say, after proclaiming the boys healthy and in no danger and some quick instructions on wing care, they were ushered out of the hospital so Kevin didn't glitter on anyone anymore.
~~~
Kevin looked at the care package the hospital had given him and his brothers and sighed. A lot of what was explained had gone over his head, but what he understood was his wings made natural oils that protected him from water.
But they still needed to be cleaned.
There were four wings attached to his back. Two larger ones on top and at the joint, two medium sized ones. They were folded up and trailed just a little over his butt.
Thin and membrane like, they almost looked like insect wings, but they shimmered an iridescent light.
"Right, we can do this," Nick said. Out of all of them, Joe and Kevin could tell Nick was freaking out the most, but they tried not to let him know they knew that.
Nick held up a stick with a loofa on the end and a bottle of natural soap.
It was a testament to how freaked out they were when they didn't laugh.
Title: Celebrity Crush
Summary: Mike muses on the fact he has a boyfriend now
Prompt/Song: Smile, 5005: Shut Up and Smile - Bowling For Soup, Mike
Mike couldn't stop the goofy smile on his lips. He, Mike Carden, had a boyfriend. Not only that, it was his celebrity crush Kevin Jonas.
A Kevin Jonas who glitter bombed you when startled or brought to orgasm.
Rubbing a hand through his longish hair, Mike watched the glitter fall to the floor of the tour bus. It brought another goofy smile to his lips.
If he kept smiling like this, Bill was going to think he'd been abducted by aliens and replaced. Chuckling a little, Mike decided he was going to do just that.
It was always a plus when he could freak Bill out and get orgasms at the same time.
Title: Sleeping Beauty
Summary: Mike watches Kevin sleep
Prompt/Song: Sleeping Beauty, 7: About Today - The National, about them - fairy tale romance
Mike watched as Kevin slept.
Limbs splayed out all over the place on the bed. It had been interesting when some heavy making out and petting turned into them floating above the bed.
The floating was still something that Kevin was learning to control, but Mike didn't mind it too much.
He brushed a few curls away from Kevin's forehead. Kevin scrunched up his face cutely and a hand came up to rub at his face before settling down again.
The wings were folded up against Kevin's back as he slept on his side.
Smiling softly, Mike leaned in and kissed Kevin on the lips.
Kevin slowly woke and blinked, knuckling sleep out of his eyes. "Hey."
"Hey."
Title: Cinderella
Summary: Kevin and Mike go out on a date
Prompt/Song: Cinderella, 14: Part Of My Life - India Arie, about them - fairy tale romance
Kevin was in a cleaning frenzy. He knew the glitter was a part of him and he basically shed it everywhere, but he didn't realize how much he did shed until he got his own house.
Mike was going to be coming over and while he'd never complained about the glitter, Kevin wanted to at least make his house presentable.
And if that meant letting his house smell like baby wipes, then so be it.
It was a few hours later and everything was wiped down, vacuumed and swept up as humanly as possible.
There were still a few specks here and there, but Kevin was satisfied this was as good as it was going to get. Checking his watch he had enough time to quickly wash his hair and wipe down his body. While not enough time to wash his wings, they were good enough.
~~~
Kevin smelled the flowers that Mike had brought. It was sweet and thoughtful. He loved the lilies. He hadn't really thought of Mike being a flower guy, but it was nice he could still be surprised about him.
"I got reservations at the restaurant you like," Mike said, hands jammed into his dark jeans as he watched Kevin put the flowers into some water and a vase.
Kevin turned around and beamed at him. "Excellent!"
They headed to the front door and Kevin frowned as he tried to find his shoes. Turning around to look for them in the closet a coughing sound had him extracting his head from the coats.
Mike held up the shoes with a grin. "These them?"
Kevin nodded. He sat back on the steps that led to the door reached out to snag one when Mike shook his head and stepped forward. He gathered up a foot and slipped the shoe on and then did the same with the other.
Holding out a hand, Mike hauled Kevin up and pressed against him, giving a quick kiss to Kevin's lips.
"Ready to go?"
Kevin nodded dazed. Who knew? His very own prince charming.
Title: Rapunzel
Summary: A photo shoot doesn’t go exactly right
Prompt/Song: Rapunzel, 21: Back in Black - AC/DC, about them - fairy tale romance
Mike idly tapped a toe in the dressing room he'd been shown too. He was on set waiting for Kevin to finish up a photo shoot.
Thumbing through an old magazine left inside probably before he was born he glanced up when he heard angry voices and then the door opened and slammed shut.
There was Kevin.
But not how he saw him this morning.
The wings were twitching in anger, but Kevin himself had more glitter on himself than usual and was in some sort of green-leaf pattern skin tight outfit and the hair had extensions and had been straightened and pinned away to show the pointed ears.
"Everything okay, love?" Mike asked. He liked adding 'love' when asking Kevin questions. It was his new thing to see Kevin all flustered when he called him 'love'. But it only served for Kevin to growl, tug at the straightened hair and flop back onto the couch next to Mike.
"Photo shoot not going so well?"
"The photographer is an asshole," Kevin muttered.
Mike's eyebrow rose. It was very rare to hear Kevin swear, but when he did, it was kind of hot and worrisome. He tugged on the lengthened locks.
"He wants to do this concept of fairies and brothers for some sort of charity event, but the way he was posing us, it was..." Kevin shuddered. "It felt wrong and then one of the hairstylists touched my ear and I just lost it."
Mike tugged Kevin in close. He knew how sensitive Kevin's ears could be and how he kept them covered by his curls all the time. Kevin thought his ears were cool; he just didn't like showing them in public.
"It got to be more than you thought it would be?"
Kevin nodded and sniffed. "Nick and Joe stormed off as well."
"Good for them," Mike said and started playing with Kevin's long hair, fingers carding through the strands as he massaged Kevin's head.
"Mmm, that feels fantastic," Kevin moaned and shifted a little. "They used this glue that melted with heat and the hair has been like that all day long and it just feels heavy and not what I'm use too."
Mike chuckled. "Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your hair."
Kevin snorted. "I am no princess in a tower."
"Nah, you'd kick anyone's ass who'd even try," Mike pointed out and then he dropped a kiss on top of Kevin's head. "And even if you were trapped, I'd come rescue you."
"Aww, Mike, you sappy romantic," Kevin cooed at him.
Mike laughed. "Just don't tell anyone, I have my serial killer rock star persona to maintain for the magazines."
"My lips are sealed," Kevin promised and leaned more into the massage. Happy and content for the first time since he said goodbye to Mike this morning.
Title: Snow White
Summary: The boys have a fight and Mike makes his way to Kevin’s house to apologize.
Prompt/Song: Snow White, 28: The Author - The Academy Is..., about them - fairy tale romance
Kevin was hiding from him. They had a huge fight and it was just stupid little stuff, but then it escalated and Mike's ears were still ringing.
He'd taken a drive around the city, hoping to calm down. He would've gone back to his apartment, but they both made a promise to not go to bed angry. Even if they did live in separate places right now.
Maybe he'd have to change that.
He pulled up into the driveway, exited the car and knocked on the door. He did have a key, but he didn't want to corner Kevin like that. He frowned when Kevin didn't come to the door.
No matter what, Kevin would've answered the door. His parents had raised him to be polite like that. The lights were all on, so Kevin was home. Digging out his key, he opened the door and entered.
"Kevin?"
There was a banging noise coming from the kitchen that had him running. His eyes went wide at Kevin's face, red and him pointing at his neck.
Rushing over, Mike frantically tried to remember his Heimlich manoeuvre classes and hugged Kevin from behind, ignoring the wings that battered at his face.
One, two, three!
There was a couching sound and something went flying in the air.
Kevin inhaled; gasping as they slowly slumped down to the floor.
"Kevin? Love?" Mike asked worriedly as he turned Kevin around and brushed sweaty curls out of his face.
Kevin coughed again and nodded. "Thank you," he said hoarsely.
Mike could only nod. If he hadn't been here, who knows what might've happened.
"I'm sorry," Mike whispered to him. "If I hadn't left..."
"I still probably would've choked on the stupid thing," Kevin coughed out again.
Mike rubbed Kevin's shoulders soothingly, trying to ease the tension out of them. The wings calmed down and slowly folded against Kevin's back.
"What was it?"
Kevin snorted. "Just a stupid apple."
Title: Ears
Summary: Mike finds out just how sensitive Kevin’s pointed ears are
Prompt/Song: We were just slipping along, 3306: Teflon - Jebediah, By Aki
Mike had been looking forward to this for weeks. Kevin had joined the tour at last night's show, and they had five whole days together before he had to fly back off to his own job.
Mike intended to enjoy every second of it.
His band may have been teasing him mercilessly, and they may have stockpiled the wipes that actually worked on Kevin's glitter, but they had also all found things to do off the bus for an entire afternoon.
Mike decided, on balance, that he owed them one.
Kevin was a sleepy warm weight pressed into him. His wings were trailing off the edge of the couch and down onto the floor. Mike dragged his fingers lightly up the swell of Kevin's shoulder, stronger and sturdier now than he remembered; Kevin must have been practicing with his wings. Kevin kept his eyes closed, but smiled as Mike dragged his fingers onwards, up the soft skin of his neck and along the curve of his jaw.
Kevin's eyes flew open as Mike indulged himself and stroked up the edge of Kevin’s ear to the point. Mike froze. "Do that again," Kevin said hoarsely, and Mike obliged, watching in fascination as Kevin shuddered with pleasure. His wings twitched and Mike saw a tiny puff of glitter erupt.
"Do you like that?" Mike teased.
Kevin leaned in and took Mike's bottom lip between his teeth and lightly tugged, making Mike's own toes curl. "Yeah," he whispered, letting go and licking the mark. "Like that. Times a hundred."
Mike held Kevin steady and reached over to blow a gentle stream of air over the tip of Kevin's ear.
This time the glitter bomb covered the floor.
Title: Sick
Summary: Mike’s sick and Kevin takes care of him.
Prompt/Song:3030: Goodbye Earl - Dixie Chicks, in company
Kevin laughed as Bill and Butcher tried to re-enact one of Mike's earlier tour scenes that involved him stoned and drunk and some guy named Jon Walker.
"You fuckers!" Mike snarled from the couch. He was sick from food poisoning and had pretty much taken over there and the bathroom.
"All's fair in sharing with your paramour," Bill cooed at Mike.
Sisky dissolved into giggles, leaning against Michaels as Kevin's wings twitched in happiness.
"Poor Mike, sick and taken down a peg by his band mates," Kevin teased his boyfriend. "Whatever shall you do?"
Mike actually pouted and turned his head.
The rest of his band collapsed on the floor in laughter.
Any reply after the pout Mike might've made was halted by him running to the bathroom and throwing up. Kevin silently got to his feet and headed to the bathroom.
A glass of water was waiting on the sink and Kevin rubbed Mike's back as he retched.
"Poor Mike," Kevin said softly.
Soon, Mike was done and Kevin handed him the glass which he took wordlessly. He rinsed and spat into the toilet, flushing it. He leaned back against Kevin, flushed and sweaty.
"Hate this," Mike moaned.
"You'll be fine in a couple of days," Kevin promised as he hugged Mike lightly.
"I'm dying," Mike gasped.
"It just feels like it," Kevin said gently.
"Promise?"
"I promise."
Title: Molting
Summary: It’s not fun and games until there’s some molting
Prompt/Song: Speaking Fairy, aki
The breach between the human and the fey had serious ramifications for the human world, but like it always had, humans adapted.
But it was a learning curve that was steep in places.
Mike hovered and tried not to look like he was hovering. "Is there anything I can do?" he asked for the fifth time in as many minutes.
Kevin sighed in frustration. "I don't know," he said through gritted teeth as he leaned against the basin head bowed and shoulders hunched as another shiver rippled through him. "If I think of anything, I'll call, but Mike, please, give me a minute here."
Mike retreated to the main room. This was not how he'd planned on spending their hotel night. Kevin had woken early, complaining that his wings hurt, but they'd both just chalked it up to squeezing into Mike's bunk for a week.
But by the end of the show, Kevin was shivering, pale with pain. His wings looked dull and drab, a little tattered now there was no glitter coating them.
A call to the hotline set up for those with fairy blood had offered a likely cause: Kevin was moulting. He could take Tylenol for the pain, but apart from that, he just had to bear up as best he could.
"Mike!" Kevin called, and Mike almost tripped over his own feet, rushing back into the bathroom.
Kevin was naked, in the bathtub. The nurse said sometimes hot water helped slough off the old wings. He was braced with his head resting on his folded arms on the tiled wall. "What do you need?" he asked, coming closer.
"It's hanging there, I can feel it," Kevin whimpered. "But I can't quite...the angle's wrong. Can you..." He made a tugging gesture.
Mike screwed up his nose and his courage. Stripping off his clothes, he got into the shower and took gentle hold of Kevin's wings. Normally they felt delicate but strong, but now they just lay like parchment in his hands, dead and breakable. "Just tug," Kevin ordered.
It came away easily, fracturing like an egg. Kevin hissed, and Mike saw the new, baby-sized wing that had been pushing up and out, vibrant and new in its colour and covered in glitter.
The shell in his hand disintegrated in the spray. Mike took a deep breath and took hold of the next part of the wing.
Later, curled up in bed with Kevin settled on top of him, mindful of his tender shoulders, Mike hooked his chin on Kevin's shoulder and watched the new wings start to unfurl.
Glitter spread out around them on the bed like a halo.
Title: Fragalicious
Summary: Mike finally comes on tour with the JoBros.
Prompt/Song: Mike/Kevin, on JoBros bus, video games, By Aki
Kevin had come out to the TAI tour multiple times since he and Mike had become a thing. But, while Mike had been introduced to the family, this was the first time he'd visited the JoBros on tour.
He was, he had to quietly admit to himself, impressed.
Kevin seemed embarrassed by the bus put on by Disney. "Um, yeah, come on, make yourself at home. We have to do a phoner in the back lounge, but I won't be long."
Mike slung his bag into Kevin's bunk (easy to spot; it sparkled) and walked through into the front lounge. Only Frankie was there, but Mike could hear voices through in the back lounge, Kevin's 'talking to journalists' voice clear even though he couldn't make out individual words. "Hey, Frankie," Mike greeted the youngest.
Frankie just tossed him the second controller.
When Kevin escaped from the interview, he found Mike and Frankie both lying on their bellies on the floor, yelling at the screen. He walked over and slid down next to Mike, reaching for the extra controller. "I'm racing the winner," he declared.
Mike bumped his shoulder and focused on the turns of the rally game. The Jobros bus wasn't that different to his after all.
Title: Dinner
Summary: Mike is invited over to the Jonas house for a dinner.
Prompt/Song: Kevin/Mike: family dinner and awkward conversation
Mike was at the Jonases having their first family dinner and he was picking at his plate. The conversation had turned a bit awkward when it went to religion.
The Jonases were still Christian and followed their faith, but when Kevin's Mom had asked what he followed he'd stupidly answered, "He didn't."
It had gone kind of awkward and silent since then and Mike figured he should try salvaging the conversation.
"Yes, I really don't follow any religion, but that doesn't mean I don't believe in something," Mike said, poking at a piece of broccoli. "I think there is something out there. Not sure what. Whether it's God or Buddha or something, but I think there is a higher power at there."
Denise and Senior looked at Mike and then each other, nodding.
"Well, it's good you believe in something, Mike," Denise said, smiling a bit more gently than the forced polite smile from earlier.
Kevin's hand sneaked under the table and grabbed his. Offering comfort.
Title: Joining Forces
Summary: Frankie and Mike combine forces to prank, Joe, Nick and Kevin.
Prompt/Song: Mike and Frankie, joining forces, By aki
Mike nodded one professional to another. "Cover me, I'm going in."
Frankie saluted and vanished to his snipers spot. Mike counted to five under his breath, and then broke cover. "Attack!" he yelled.
Kevin shrieked as the stream of icy-cold water hit him square between the wings and rolled down his spine. Frankie had been keeping bottles on ice for just this occasion. The kid was evil.
Mike liked the little brat more than he'd care to admit. He kept up a steady stream, soaking Kevin's shirt to clingy transparency.
Nick yelled as Frankie covered Mike's flank and drew fire. Mike used the cover to hustle a soaked Kevin into the cover of a stack of tour crates. "You're soaked, you should take that off," he said, tugging at the sopping shirt as he crowded into Kevin's space.
Kevin smirked and shot Mike at point blank range with his own little water pistol. Mike's eyes crossed. Apparently, icing the water in the super soakers was a family-wide trick.
Kevin cackled as he slipped away, and Mike declared war.
Title: Stage
Summary: Mike sees the stage on which Kevin performs.
Prompt/Song: TAI watches JoBros perform (think how different the stage design would be because they have wings. :D), By Aki
Mike was let onto stage with a nod from Big Rob. He walked up the back ramp and stopped at the top.
There was so much space; the stage was like a giant, airy cage, with camera booms and lighting rigs instead of bars. He tried to picture it when the stadium was full, and struggled with the sheer size of the concept.
"It's pretty cool, isn't it," Kevin said, stepping up beside him, wings fluttering slowly like he was using them to keep his balance. "And this bit, and those three parts down there, they all go up."
"Aren't you afraid you'll fall?" Mike asked without thinking.
Kevin smiled and kissed his cheek. "Mike," he said patiently. "We have wings. We can fly. Falling isn't really a hazard."
Title: Meeting the Boss
Summary: Kevin finally meets Pete Wentz, Fairy enthusiast.
Prompt/Song: Kevin/Mike, meeting Pete, By Aki
Kevin was watching Mike and the boy’s setup when he felt someone watching him. That wasn't unusual; if it wasn't the wings, it was the Jonas that caught people's attention.
But this time, the stare-ee wasn't some bored tech or star struck newbie. It was Pete Wentz.
Pete sauntered over. "Hi," he said with a grin. "I'm Pete." He winked. "I know Mike thinks you're pretty pretty, but I have to say, photographs don't do those babies justice." He nodded at Kevin's wings. "Chat later." And then he was gone, chasing down one of the tour managers.
Mike wandered over a minute later. "You okay?"
Kevin made a face. "I think your boss just hit on me."
Instead of getting upset, Mike chuckled. "Yeah. He kinda does that."
Title: Mortified
Summary: "Oh my god, did you just fairy come all over me?"
Prompt/Song: Kevin/Mike, Pete and glitter, By Aki
Kevin was happily settled on Mike's lap. It was one of his favourite-ist places in the world to be. With his thighs braced against Mike's, Mike's warm, strong hands steadying his waist, and his wings free to flap lightly, Kevin could quite happily spend hours sitting in Mike's lap.
The making out was just a delicious added bonus.
"That is so hot!" someone said loud enough to be a yell. Kevin gasped, flinched, and felt his wings twitch. "Oh my god, did you just fairy come all over me?"
Mike was laughing into Kevin's shoulder. Kevin twisted around very slowly to see Pete Wentz standing there, staring with glee at the glitter on his hands. He was sparking from forehead to beltline. Kevin whimpered and hunched down to hide his face against Mike's neck.
Mike was still laughing. "Shut up," Kevin whispered, mortified. "I think he enjoyed it!"
Title: It Went National
Summary: Pete gets a little chatty on air and Mike plots Pete’s death.
Prompt/Song: Pete tells the story of fairy bukkake on national tv., By Aki
"Anything on."
Mike dropped the remote and sat back, arms on the back of the sofa so Kevin could snuggle in. "Pete making an ass of himself of national TV."
"Oh, repeats," Kevin said brightly. But he snuggled in, hand on Mike's chest, as they watched his boss be bright and cheerful and charming as he talked about....
"Yeah," he brayed at the interviewer. "Kinda like fairy bukkake. But man is glitter hard to get out of your hair."
Kevin's fingers had bunched up Mike's shirt in his grip. "Did he?" he said faintly.
"I," Mike said, dumbfounded. "And going to kill him. Slowly."
Kevin blinked. "He's your boss," Kevin noted, as if from far away.
Mike shrugged. "We'll Weekend at Bernie’s it, rig up his corpse with a string to bray and say stupid shit and sign the checks. But he's gonna die."
Kevin whimpered again as his phone started to ring.
Title: Glitter Explosion
Summary: Mike’s not sure how to handle this situation. Frankie steps up to the plate!
Prompt/Song: After Pete talks on national tv, Kevin doesn’t want to glitter anymore, holding it in makes him sick, By Aki
Mike patted Kevin on the shoulder and went out into the main room.
"Is he okay? Do we need to call a doctor? Is it a fairy thing?" Senior asked in quick succession.
Mike winced; he was still on tip-toe around Kevin's family - he still hadn't quite gotten a grip on the all-American Christian wholesome types being quite so welcoming of their son's atheist, sometimes drunk, rock star boyfriend. And there really was no polite way to say this.
"I think he's...he got all self-conscious about the glitter and tried to hold it in, and now he's..."
Nick was always quick on the uptake. "He's constipated?" he asked, working it out. Mike could have hugged him.
Joe just burst out in a laugh that would have done a hyena proud. Mike definitely didn't want to hug him.
Senior looked confused and a little embarrassed too. Mike felt a sudden kindred with the man. "How do we, uh...help?"
"Sparkly laxatives?" Joe howled.
"Not helping, Joe," the three other men chorused.
"He glitters when he's surprised. Maybe, like with hiccups?"
"Worth a shot," Mike shrugged.
Frankie walked in and stood between them, coming up to their waists. "Leave it with me."
Mike would never ask what Frankie did that had the plume of glitter explode down the corridor like a hurricane to coat the lounge. He just nodded, one master prankster to another, as Frankie walked out wearing an oversized baseball chest place, a dust filter mask and a pair of swimming goggles, and went to check on Kevin.
Title: Retaliation
Summary: Frankie plots Pete Wentz’s downfall.
Prompt/Song: Mike and Frankie, retaliation against Pete Wentz., By Aki
Mike came onto the bus to find Frankie cleaning. This in itself was a highly suspicious activity, but the fact that he seemed to be collecting and sorting out Kevin's glitter was doubly-worrying. "Frankster," he said, mimicking the rising inflection he'd heard Denise use to good effect.
Frankie held up the canister of Kevin's glitter. "I need you to get me in to Pete Wentz. I'll do the rest."
Mike nodded and decided plausible deniability was the better part of valour.
When Pete appeared on his music show that night, live, he was covered in glitter. "I'm honouring Gaga, glitter, the 70s and people with wings and evil siblings," he told his co-host with a forced laugh.
Frankie watched with smug satisfaction. "It really is sticky stuff," Frankie noted. "Wonder why no-one told him about the baby wipes."
Mike put his phone away with an innocent smile. "Must have slipped their minds."
