Is it AWE or is it AWWWWW?

So many Sparrabethians have been heart broken over the latest installment of POTC that it's compelled me to write a more detailed analysis over why it is "not so bad" as Kraken phelgm when looked at from an analytical perspective. Thanks for reading and commenting! I'm glad that my observations on the film have helped you to reconsider it in a different hopefully more positive light. It makes me sad that it's getting such a bum wrap from so many people when in fact, there is a lot to admire.

As for the parachute scene...of course it's implausible, but then again this is a scene taken from a film in which the main villain was a man with tentacles on his face who had inadvertantly ripped out his still beating heart. Obviously, it has to be taken with a little 'willing suspension of disbelief'.

And I agree with your summation that yes, more could have been done to communicate the nature of the J/E relationship and that more was done by the writers. You've probably read the scripts and the novelization, so you are probably also aware of all that was missing from the film. I think it would have only made the film stronger, but that the film still has its merits without it.

What would you have done differently to communicate the nature of the relationship if you had the chance?
