It's time for the TMNT 25th anniversary road tour, and although I missed the NY Galabunga, the second stop is right here in my own hometown. Nothing can drag me out and about like our boys in green, so lo! I have ventured out into the pouring rain to get my cheese on and have a shell of a good time in downtown Philly. If this party tour is coming anywhere near you, GO. The bus is awesome.
The Turtles may be ninja, but this bus is not. It is meant to be seen and partied around. As Mikey said, Don did do a damn fine job tricking out the party van. It's got that old school flair, with today's hi tech power. That's a playable XBOX360 with a hi-def screen on the outside under the awning.
The inside is loaded with collector's edition toys ranging the gamut of TMNT merchandising, including the van they used as the model for this bus. There are screens playing behind-the-scenes loops on how the films were made as well as original production shots, storyboards, and sketches. And the ceiling lights are replica manhole covers. XD
They credit Don, but obviously, all the guys had a hand in rebuilding their classic turtle van.
And that's me, being the total dork that I am. Along with a bunch of other total dorks. I think I saw maybe four kids, total. Everyone else was well over 25 coming out to get their pictures taken with Mikey and share an enthusiastic "Cowabunga!" or two.
The other guys will be at the ballpark tomorrow before the Phillies game (against the NY Mets, no less). It's supposed to rain like crazy again, but I'm going to see if I can get down there and get some more pictures anyway. ^_^
