So I'm doing two things today, both of them a little odd. First, I am posting a poem I wrote a couple years ago, and just found today. Second, I'm posting a series of geeky photos... me! You're probably going to laugh hysterically when you see them.
"A Pocketful of Posies"
It sounds a little like thunder
Or, thunder of childhood myths
Echoing about your head
Close your eyes
Breathe it in
Too slick ice skate soles
Red tan and blue
Lace mismatched strings
One black - one neon green
Shift foot back and forth
Back and forth
Contemplate tap dancing
Smooth tools, like giant marbles
Mottled pinks and greens swirl
In a heavy black sphere
It rings with a click-whirr
Tapping down on polished wood
And careening down the veneer
Ping! Ping! Duke Nukem's won again as -
Husha, husha, they all fall down.
Whirl of spinning, up a clacking slope
Then they all click together
Like an infinity motion machine
And you begin again
Hold, stare, line up the shot
Then click - whirr it's begun again
Ring around the rosie.
So.
Any idea what the heck I was writing about? Cause I'd love to see if anyone can figure out what I was writing about!
And now for my truly weird thing... yeah, basically, I found a pile of old photos of myself, and wanted to show off that, yes, I was a blond child, and yes, I have always had problems with dressing myself like a human.
Myself on my first day of kindergarten, when I was four. That's my brother Brian with me. And yes, look closely - my Ninja Turtles lunchbox! (My mom hated that thing... my grandma bought it for me because I asked for a red lunchbox, and I was so excited!)
Grade two, my first year at LCPS.
Grade four, specifically, my eighth birthday.
Grade eight, I was twelve, and in Calvinettes (hence the scarf). And yeah... I actually wore that. In fact, I still own those overalls, and if I ever loose the weight, I'm planning on wearing them again.
Grade ten! I'm the one in the middle. God, I looked so much better back then. *sighs*
First week of teacher's college - right before I sank into depression and tried to solve my problems with food. *sighs* And I'm fighting with that since, but hey! I was a dork on a cell phone! (I'm honestly not even sure why I have this picture... I think I was goofing off with my new webcam, or something.)
And this was taken today, just to show you how much of a dork I am!
So... that's my life. In pictures.
