Evidently I am posting like a madwoman today. I blame it on the circulation desk. How I love the circulation desk.
First: there was this girl here. A very pretty Mexican exchange student, and she looked so familiar, it was bothering me. I thought at first she might have been my old roommate's boyfriend's sister, or something (which sounds like a stretch, but believe me when I say you never forget you Japanese exchange student roommate and her Mexican exchange student boyfriend). But then I realized: she looked exactly like Impata.
Yes, the Inca Mummy Girl from Buffy.
That is just beyond odd.
Secondly: television!
Ace and I were trying to figure out why Pirate Master wasn't on last night, or in fact listed for the rest of the week. I'll tell you why: they cancelled it. I really liked the show, so of course they had to axe it! Shows that I like can only stay if they existed for at least two seasons before I saw them, or they get axed. (Stupid networks.) However, we will be able to watch the rest of the episodes online. Still. Sad face.
Next, they are apparently introducing two new female regulars to Supernatural this fall, a pair of demon hunters. Apparently though, they will not be love interests, as the press agent says he doesn't want it to be "One Tree Hill with ghosts". Thank everything that cares about how television shows are made.
And the next thing on my list: new tv shows for the fall! First up... "New Amsterdam". It apparently will premiere September 25, and will be 8 o'clock on Tuesday. Early show. In any case, basic premise: it's about an immortal police officer in New York who saved a Native girl in 1642, so she made him immortal. (Okay, that last bit is a little odd.) Still, the fact that he goes to AA meetings when he's been sober since 1965 just really amuses me, and the basic plotline sounds freaking sweet. Apparently the shows creators have never seen "Highlander", but still. Familiar concept, if nothing else. But it has hope - I'd like to at least check it out. And yes, it will be on FOX.
Another new one I'm looking forward to is "Moonlight". Airing September 28th, it'll be a Friday at nine series. (Does that mean it'll be replacing Friday Night Lights? No wait, that was Wednesday, wasn't it?) In this case, it's about a private investigator who was turned into a vampire by his new bride on their wedding night sixty years ago. I don't need to hear anything else. I must see it. This is a CTV show, just like CSI and everything. Yay!
And now my tv talk is done. *nods*
