Most. Boring font. EVER! Could they not even use the game logo? REALLY!? The teaser poster had a logo.

Also the Prince is in his Warrior Within attire, rather than his Sands of Time gear and "Dastan ( Jake Gyllenhaal) is a street urchin in 6th century Persia. After showing valor in battle, he is adopted by the king as his heir, so the king's two sons will not fight over the throne"

There are so many things wrong with that sentence. So so many. Hmm, I don't want my sons to fight over the throne, so rather than taking the logical choice and picking the eldest as my heir, how about I grab some street urchin and make him my heir. That definitely won't piss them off in any way. Heh, I'm the best father in the world."

I don't get why they felt it neccessary to change this stuff. I know films change things, I'm not against that, but this just seems so random and arbitrary as well as having nothing to do with the plot. Plus I kinda liked that the prince in the games was never named.

"The screenwriter left out elements of the Prince of Persia video games Warrior Within and The Two Thrones and did not anticipate including these elements in the film's possible sequels" Then why bother at all? Jesus. It's one thing to base a film on a game or whatever. But if you're gonna have hardly any ties to the game in question, then why adapt it at all?

It's all about money of course. An adaptation is far more likely to get studio backing, since there's already a fanbase there. Personally I think directors think "hmm I want to make an adventure movie, but they'll never accept an original idea...I KNOW! I'll say it's a Prince of Persia film! Then I'll get money for it!"

*sigh*

It will probably still be a good movie though, Harry Gregson-Williams' score and Jerry Bruckheimer producing. Plus Gemma Arterton's hot.
