Oh, this is just wonderful (and much more upbeat than your previous posting). Love this ... Jack, in his element, one with the storm, at the helm of his "wooden lady", guiding her homeward to where Lizzie and his son await! This is like the "flip side" to your other story: Jack, with everything to live for, going home to the bosom of his loving family! Very sweet indeed!
Your imagery is truly gorgeous, and your words paint such a vivid picture of Jack in his wild, stormy magnificence! I can just see him in my mind's eye, gripping the Pearl's wheel, soaked to the skin, braids dripping with rainwater, kohl-smudged eyes and golden grin gleaming with manic glee as he defies Calypso's wrath! *sigh*
I'm a real sucker for Jack in a storm! I just truly love the image of him standing his ground in the face of such a force of nature and it seemed nice to give him a motive to survive with such confidance other than his massive ego! :P
