I've read Penguin Illustrated History of Britain and Ireland, and the Geoffrey of Monmouth history. But then, I'm a weird history buff.

The Illustrated History has me pretty excited. I'm nervous about Geoffrey of Monmouth and the other period sources because sometimes older stuff is more difficult to read, but overall I'm pretty excited about the books my professors have chosen this semester (even though it's more books than I've ever had to buy in one semester!)
