hot glass is amazing. biking downtown during rush hour will take some getting used to. i blew my first piece of glass today and that was such a rush. i think the fact that i'm sweating profusely helps out a lot with the adrenaline. everything is going wonderfully in my studio classes. painting is going to be a struggle. sometimes i just don't think my professor understands how to help his students. Sculpture is always a relief b/c Scott (sorry, Tiff, I know how you feel about him...) is always very in tune with his students and lets us be a community for one another. glass is going to be the new endeavor this semester. i love giving birth to little baby glass spheres.

i've been having crazy dreams lately. last night i dreamed i was back home in Ashland standing outside of my house with my parents, my friend Adam (don't ask me why HE was there...), and a foreign exchange student i know here named Nana. Our yard was completely covered in leaves - and when i say covered i mean up to the roof of our house. so we all decide that we should try to move all the leaves (of coures, we do this without the help of rakes or wheelbarrows...). We begin to uncover these strange wooden branches that have been twisted and bent and tied in beautiful shapes. i look around and say, "hey, look what Nana is doing..." Nana had discovered the branches as well and began to use them as a sled. We uncovered more, it was as if someone had left them there and gift-wrapped them in twenty feet of leaves. I began to put the branches together and - lo and behold! - they were Amish rocking chairs!

the dream went on...but the rest is boring. Dana, my roommate, dreamed that she was pregnant. we both have immaculate conception dreams from time to time.
the end
