I just realized I can literally find half the religion books in the library without their call number because I spend my whole life in that one two-shelf wide little section of the place and I basically know it by heart. Hurrah for dorkiness I guess.

nothing to do with fanfiction, what am i doing, sparrow is a nerd

Just curious, so.... Are you a theology major? And would you say your interest in religion leans more toward academia or spiritual pursuits?

*wildly dodges the question of major but essentially yes*

Academic, but I was raised religious and still am, kind of.

(Hi I'm Sparrow and I apparently have a lot of trouble with straightforward answers to simple questions. *Romney joke goes here* Okay I'm done.)

Lol your dodgeyness is still adorable anyways. :P

As a person who is genuinely interested in religion too for academic (and spiritual) reasons, it's nice to see that some people still look into those kinda things. These days people don't consider much outside from their hectic lives. ANYWAY

Have a good one. :3

I basically accidentally theology major'd, but my interest in Judeo-Christian religion is lifelong. So, you know, if you ever wanna geek out...*shrugs awkwardly*

Sure! And if you ever need any help on one of your papers, I'd gladly help you and give you a scripture or two. I hope when I go back I can take an interesting course like the one you're taking. I only took an 'Intro to Islam' course that was mostly unsatisfactory and under-stimulating. I think it's because the woman who was teaching it was an Algerian woman who knew French and Arabic better than she knew English, so sometimes we wouldn't even understand what she wanted out of us for certain assignments. Not to mention discussion was pretty bland among the swath of disinterested students who wish they could have taken Botany or Psych instead, lol.

I have the blessing of professors that are as dorkily invested as me--well, way more actually--which I think is the upside of a field like academic theology. The ones who stick around to teach at liberal arts schools tend to really, really love both the material and teaching itself.

Lol and here I am wide awake when I have one such class in...oh, 6 hours? Gah.
