I think in a sense to define art negates it. I think in a sense defining art is art and it is a poetry. Using limited words to try to label something which can be comparable in my mind to that of love and to that of God. Neither can be really described I think. but both are completely personal things for everyone. i think poetry is an interesting art because it uses words. I was thinking that it is not a visual art and it is not a performing art although it can contain both. its like- If there were some way to express words mentally. the poetry could still exist. So its interesting. In the same way we are limited by colors and soundsand key signatures I think we are limited by words. I think with that said, full mental expression is limited by physical stuff and if art could be defined it wouldn't really apply to what everyone in the world does. Sometimes I wonder if our minds are limited by what we already know or if we imagine things with the help of nothing...So all and all in my mind what I'd like art to be doesn't exist and what we have as art is the talent of using physical things to describe something not physical. I sometimes think photography is not really art as it is just showing what is already being shown. I dunno.
I was thinking all of these thoughts yesterday, and it's interesting youbrought it up on here as you did. I'd really like to talk to you about in person someday, as doubtful as it may be... but anyway you've intrigued my livejournal self and thats happy. ... bye
