While hanging out on HoBaFa

Shortening the site name to that really does look ridiculous every time I type it, but it seems to be what we're all going to favor..

Um, short explanation: HoBaFa is the new GAFF. GAFF being GodAwful Fan Fiction, which the Site Guru finally decided she no longer had interest in running. And GAFF is currently being referred to as a zombie site - it was paid till Jan 12th, went down briefly a couple of days ago, and then came back. So we shall see...

Anyway, a lot of old GAFF topics are being revived. Including one on book-to-movie adaptations. Which allows me to bring up my favorite example of piss-poor adaptation: Disney's The Black Cauldron.

I don't want to make a long post, as I should probably be doing homework of some fashion, but I find it interesting that I can still complain quite a bit about it now as I did on the original GAFF thread over a year ago. And that others agree.

Course, since Lloyd Alexander (according to Wiki, anyway) said the following: "First, I have to say, there is no resemblance between the movie and the book. Having said that, the movie in itself, purely as a movie, I found to be very enjoyable."

I think my own sentiments, which run in a similar vein, are justified.

Go see the movie. But for goodness' sake, go read the books as well.

And on a truly random side note, but I feel a need to brag - I beat Guitar Hero III on Medium mode, and have a 99% complete on Weezer's "My Name is Jonas" - and yes, I am aiming for 100% sometime soon, if possible.
