I have been sick since Monday. I stayed home from school Tuesday and work on Wednesday. I am feeling better now for the most part but I have this weird anxiety type feeling because I missed real life for two days

which program? is it Oxford Tefl? they are the shit. its really hard but its worth it. they are nice and you can use internet for free forever afterwards. hence this message. and they will help you get a job.

it is not impossible to find work here. i had a pretty hard time, but i was here during the dead of winter and it wasnt the best time for work. but most of the students from the last program all found work immediately. i get paid 750 euros for the month of february, but then i have to find a new job cause im only a substitute. I live at Plaça Urquinaona, which is muy muy central, pero mucho ocupado con trafico and turistas.
you should try to live in one of the following neighborhoods:
barri gotic, La Ribera, el Born (which is BCNs SoHo), the Raval (which is kind of shady), Barceloneta (the beachfront) or Poble Sec.
La ribera is the best because it is (1) not as busy and full of tourists as the Barri (2) not as expensive as the born, but not quite as cool (3) very cheap and very old looking and cool and (4) extremely central and a 10 minute walk to the beach.
so there is barcelona. when will you be coming here? the best time to find work is october, but you can always find something.
check Loquo.com for everything. its kind of like craigslist. they have jobs and apartments and bikes and toaster ovens and anonymous sex. give it a try. (the site. not the sex.)
