HAPPY-ness

One of those things that’s listed in my Bucket list (assuming I have one), is to attend the Holy mass of the Pope and to visit Vatican to see Pope Francis.  So when it was announced that Pope Francis will visit Philippines, I felt so delighted because it’s a rare moment that a Pope will visit far country in the south East Asia. I always include it in my prayers, to see Pope Francis.

January 16, God answered it YES. I was able to have a glimpse of Pope inside his car and see him AGAIN in his Pope mobile. I felt so happy. It was ecstatic. It was one of the rare moments where I can really say that it’s genuine happiness. Despite the hunger and the sleepiness that I have, I didn’t get cranky at all. Because after I saw him, it all felt surreal in a good way. Once again, God reminded me that he knows what my heart’s desires and if it’s in His Will, it will happen. And once you feel a genuine happiness, nothing can ever make you feel different, not even the poops that our dogs scattered inside our house. (YES! Our dogs thought that our house is a vast comfort room that they own...for a while). I get easily annoyed especially when I’m hungry and tired. But neither the need of long walks nor did the task of cleaning the house even if I’m dead-tired ruin my mood. I realized maybe that’s the reason why people always seek for happiness, a genuine happiness, like a drug that everybody wants. When you feel it, not even the things that we usually get annoyed to will make us feel different. Instead, it will move us to do the things we’re supposed to do (even if we least like it) without even complaining. In our time now, where material things deceivingly offer happiness that will just make people want for more but would not satiate the craving, we must remember that a genuine happiness doesn’t come from earthly desires of possessing things but rather with the experiences that God allows us to have. Not just the good ones but also the pain and trials that you had and you will have and as long as you’ll keep the faith, you will in no doubt surpass it.
