it depends a lot on how close a friend they are. my boy could get away with saying almost anything, and any form of apology. other people i'd judge more harshly.
I was just in a similar situation. A friend of 20 years said something to the effect of "Dear God you and WoGKF can't have kids. They need a father" and I am still hurt even though an apology was rendered. I think you need time to heal and ponder the meaning of the friendship. I know I will eventually forgive my friend, but am not ready yet.

Now, I can see your point and don't think I would be OK with this friend for a long while, if at all. Sounds like they don't listen to who you are and how you are growing in life...I, too, with some same issues, would not only be mortified, but also pissed off.
