Oh, that was quite wonderful. :-) I can definitly see that being Becketts worst nightmare. So many bad things for him at the same time. :-) Wonderful read.

Haha, Pinky & The Brain reference at the end was cute!

>>I use my preferred, imagined backstory for Jack's and Cutler's common past.<<
What is your imagined backstory? From what I can gather from this fic, Jack caught Beckett trying on womens clothes?

I haven't worked out all the details yet, but something like that, yes, or a bad prank. Overall I propose that Jack is Spanish/Aztec from his mother's side (hence his knowledge of the cursed gold), started out wealthy (he apparently owned his ship at a young age and was a merchant then), and has an education. So I thought, he may have been to college in England and may have met Cutler there for the first time, so their rivalry, affair or whatever would go way back.

Thank you. Maybe the gloomy muse will get to me again one of these days.

Poor Beckett!! :)

I love the way you heap nightmares on him here and the image of him losing it to the point that he'll attack his own portrait.

So he and Jack were at Oxford together - I like that!

Someone who keeps a painting of himself with him whereever he travels clearly has some issues that would warrant nightmares.

This was very, very cute.

I'm going to be doing a minor-character recs page soon, and this is a shoo-in for Lord Cutler Beckett's section.

I wouldn't call Beckett a minor character, but thank you kindly.
