While living on the east coast I heard great things about the Dark Odyssey events. They host some camping and hotel kink/sex events each year near DC. After discovering the very thriving tabletop gaming community in Chicago I looked around and discovered that there are at least a few good medium size gaming conventions in the midwest that I had not previously heard of (aside from Origins and GenCon, which are rather large).
