Final post-op appointment

Oct 28, 2017 15:10

This past Wednesday I had my final post-op appointment. The nurse said I looked good and that my recovery should continue nicely. I only had one concern to address, and that was the little fold that's appeared under my nipples. He said that should smooth out as I continue to heal. One warning he gave me was that any future weight gain would likely go directly to my chest, as that's what past recipients of this surgery have reported. Something to keep in mind, but I'm not too concerned at this point, especially since I can ride my bike again.

I continue to be pleased with how flat my chest is. Healing is progressing nicely and it's cool to get a better idea of how I'm gonna look every day. I don't have full sensation just yet, but I can feel a lot more than I could a month or two ago. Now the lack of sensation is more surface level, where before it went deeper. I can support my weight hanging off a pull-up bar and I can do one pull up, but I don't think I want to try more yet. When I first started trying I couldn't move at all, then I could lift myself only a little bit. That's progress! I do want to shape and tone my chest, but I also know that if I rush into that it'll cause trouble. So, I wait.

You can see the difference that a few months of not really using my chest has made when you take a look at the before and after pictures I got at the post op (posted out of order so my new chest is the link image). My shoulders look sad now heh

Fancy new chest:
